It's the original AC3 with no re-encoding.

I used to think the DTS DVD was the definitive version, but after capturing the LD, I discovered quite a few differences.

As I expected, the LD has the best low-end in several scenes—especially the tank sequence.

After comparing it with every available version, including the UHD, I get the impression that the DTS DVD mix has quite a bit of unique processing applied to it, so it doesn't really sound like the original mix anymore.

PM me for link.

Running a Synology box with Plex, with a separate library for preservation cuts so they don't collide with the retail rips. Currently 4K77, 4K80, 4K83 and a couple of Harmy's. Mostly here for the non-Star-Wars side though, Jurassic Park and Alien especially.

Been reading the T2 grade threads too since I don't own any Terminator yet and would rather buy the right disc the first time. Looking forward to digging through the rest of the archive.

Hey everyone, glad to finally join the community! I’ve been spending a lot of time lately building out my home media library on Jellyfin and diving deep into classic cinema, having just finished Straw Dogs and currently working my way through a Dustin Hoffman run with Lenny and Marathon Man up next. Outside of watching movies, I also do a lot of sketching and illustrative artwork of my favorite actors, particularly Al Pacino, which is actually what led me to sign up here. I’m trying to track down a pristine 1080p theatrical version of Heat (1995) to add to my server because I'm not a fan of the darker, teal color grading and scene edits in the 2017 Director's Definitive Edition. I'm hoping to find the warmer, original theatrical look with the original 5.1 audio, and I'm really looking forward to exploring the site and seeing all the preservation projects you guys are working on thanks for helping me!

Hey guys.

Here's a .rar file containing several tonemapping luts which may be used when regrading a film from UHD to SDR. Thanks to the guy who created them (I found them on the starwars forums years ago). They're really good.

- Lut 1.
Highlights are less saturated than with other luts. Reds can be too bright sometimes, and it glitches when dealing with very bright puple-violet colors.

- Lut 2
Highlights can be a bit constrained in some occasions. Better reds.

- Alien tonemapping
Similar to lut2 but a little less constrained highlights. Sometimes, if you feel you're is missing detail in highlights because the tonemapped picture is too bright with the other luts, this one will deal with that. Also reds look the best with this lut.

The others are very similar to lut2.

Any good, but not super expensive, audio interfaces that you would recommend. Must have is a digital optical audio in, for bit perfect ld captures. Nice to have features would be usable with headphones. I found Zoom U44, but this product is no longer available. Any alternatives?

Must work with mac and possible usable with Playstation for Headphone/Microphone.

Open for suggestions
