Original lossless DTS-HD MA 5.1 - what does it actually mean. Same as Cinema DTS?
For example The Mask has this but the original mix sounds a bit muddy to my ears -> not the case with my other Cinema DTS movies.

In my personal opinion, what's great about watching movies in VR is that you can align yourself with the optical axis of the lens, creating a true (looking through a window effect.) You can also enlarge the screen to such a degree, that you start to inhabit the space of the image, depending on your comfort/preference of course.

I prefer the sweet spot of minimal eye/head movement with maximum immersive size.

My plan is to create a series of 4:3 BD + DVD hybrids for watching in VR. 4:3 is very close to the IMAX aspect ratio of 1.43:1, so hence, in theory, you're creating an IMAX version of the film.

Here's what I use.

Program: Whirligig (Most Customizable/Adjustable program I've found)
Mode : Cinema

Window Experience Settings
Size = 3.7
Distance = 3.8
Tilt = -2 (Will need to adjust so centered for you)
Horizontal Curvature = 70
Vertical Curvature = 30

In Movie Experience Settings
Size = 4.7
Distance = 3.8
Tilt = -2 (Will need to adjust so centered for you)
Horizontal Curvature = 70
Vertical Curvature = 30

Whirligig offers several different media formats for playback. Select the one that works for you.

Please feel free to join the discussion.

* mkvmerge: MPEG transport stream reader: HEVC/H.265: added support for
* mkvmerge: MPEG transport stream reader, HEVC/H.265 elementary stream reader:
* mkvmerge: MPEG transport stream reader: HEVC/H.265: implemented combining
* MKVToolNix GUI: multiplexer: the functionality for detecting file name
* xyzvc_dump: HEVC: the tool will now also output the inner NALU type of Dolby
Vision NALUs (`unspec62` and `unspec63`).

These little knockleheads really took my restoration for the Raw Deal trailer of my YT-Channel and put it on the new Blu-ray/4K Blu-ray release. Well, since it's watermarked they cropped it to 4:3. But I instantly recognized my work. Exact same edits and text. They even patched in a few shots where they couldn't crop out a banner. But the real funny thing is that could've just asked for the watermark-free file.

Not even studios ask these days and grab things of youtube

General warning again: Windows update to version 22H2 has jacked up my Adobe Premiere, general codecs interaction, especially Lagarith (older codec) encoding and decoding..its not even displaying the full 8.3 filename w. extension in Premiere; its calling it ".av" instead of ".avi!" I don't think I can roll it back either.
There's also reports of very sluggish performance handling large files in Windows, waveform drawing visibility vanishing for AAC audio after upgrading (in both video and audio editors), and Nvidia had a bug (also w/ Win11) of super slow frame-rates in games until they patched the driver. Beware!

Hi all,
I've been working on a goofy idea for a joke video but am worried about posting it on Youtube. It involves doing a redub of a film. (which I used to do in college for a laugh) I'm only doing selected short scenes and cutting around using the entire sequences. I'm also doing all the audio myself without anything from the film. The goal is to make it like an old incomplete workprint with a different temp ADR audio track.

Has anyone ever tried to do something like this? I'm just terrified of getting copyright strikes. I guess it just depends on if the owner is overzealous or not about taking things down.

I’m tired of missing out on UHDs and hdr. Not to mention only being able to review 1080p discs. The technical upgrades every year have made me keep waiting for bugs to be worked out and prices to come down.
I’m thinking about finally going for the 55” Sony a80j oled since they’ve been marked down. My concern would then be the new quantum dot oled panels coming out for 2022 but it seems the prices will be astronomical for now.
I would get a Panasonic UHD player and Down convert UHDs to my plasma but those players are already very expensive and I’m sick of the headaches with my Panasonic plasma-meaning I rarely if ever use it.

I was just wondering what everyone’s experience here has been with 4K TVs. I think I’ve driven myself crazy with reviews and videos thinking about upgrading for years now.
