Here's a very quick one for you. (Not like me, eh?)

Working on this today. Just watched the film with the audio that's on the disc, which actually was pretty good overall (not anything particularly incredible, but a pretty pleasing mix to listen to on my system in any case). But then it got to a dramatic moment near the end of the film and *this* happened...

Deary dear.
What the hell was that?
Maybe it's my laptop but I couldn't tell any difference.
Hahaha. There are dropouts in the BD audio where it just disappears for a sec then comes back again. Noticed it when watching on projector then verified on PC so it definitely ain't just a device thing! They're brief but there are at least 3 that are noticeable in a very short span of time. It doesn't drop to absolute silence but there's an interruption. Doesn't happen in the cinema DTS.
Turned up the volume and closed my eyes and I noticed this time. Wink
Hahah cool, there you go!
Something must’ve happened on Fox’s end,Does the other releases have these problems?

Other releases? DVD, you mean? No idea, only got the Blu-ray myself. EDIT: But in any case, I'll get it fixed, I already have what I need to replace it.

That’s what I meant, the DVDs and the LD. If you have no other copies of the film your copy might be from a faulty batch.

I have literally never come across that before (> 1000 Blu-rays) but sure, it's theoretically possible. If it were a manufacturing issue I wouldn't expect it to manifest like this though. If you want to check one and let me know, go for it!

I would think it more likely to be something that affects all copies. There's a similar problem with the audio in the UK TV series Broadchurch, which definitely wasn't just my copy: I returned it and bought another later, was exactly the same. I don't expect to see the problem on earlier transfers but for Blu-ray they'll likely have gone back to the masters and re-recorded them, hence the issue (bear in mind it's the first time they've needed lossless 5.1, it wasn't possible until Blu-ray).
