Full Version: New fixed theme for testing

"Fanrestore theme auto" is now available. What's new:

- it automatically detects if your device prefers light or dark color mode (you can also just force the color you want in user CP) and presents the theme accordingly
- dark mode has several readability fixes
- light mode has a bit of a color scheme change, darker red is now the dominant color
- editor now displays correctly for light/dark theme

If you want to help us test the new themes please switch now (User CP -> Edit options -> Board style) and report any problems you may see in this thread. "Fanrestore theme auto" will soon become the default one, and I will remove "Fanres new" and "Fanres classic" themes (in all the color options) in the future, since they are almost the same visually but without the fixes, and would be just a pain to continue supporting.

Here's how it looks:

Personally I hope the "FanRes" themes either stay available or the new auto theme changes to use the classic gradient red color. The new darker red just looks brownish on my monitor and it's far less visually pleasant. Since "FanRes NEW light" and "Fanrestore auto" light look identical aside from the red color change, I would guess it's as simple as reverting the red of the new theme to what the old themes used, but I don't know much about editing web themes.
I'm using the dark theme and it's pleasant to my eyes Big Grin I didn't notice any issues yet. I could suggest the same dark red in the same places where the light theme uses it (as a visual reminder of the standard theme), but really I'm just glad that everything works fine and it's not a big deal. Thanks Feallan for the heavy work.

After using the new theme for some time, I think of changing it back to the older (brighter) color scheme. The new one is a bit too similar to black test when it comes to links for me. What do you guys think, which is better?

I prefer the older "classic" theme
