So the Conan movies are out for some time now in 4K from Arrow Video. Did anyone get them and can share some thoughts, Especially for the audio part of the movies.
It is the best that the films ever looked. Sound: I'm a little split on as the first film does lose a little bit of bitrate due to it being DTS HD Master audio, however, the second is presented in linear PCM.
I haven't seen them yet, but I'm particularly interested in how the LD PCM compares to the Arrow track.

DTS-HD MA is lossless. You wont lose anything in the encoding process. It just saves spaces on the disc compared to PCM.

But I'm more concerned about the actual audio quality. Is it truly the original mix, just from a better master or did they screw it up with not having their fingers under control and process it to death. I also would like to hear about peoples thought on the Atmos mix.

I'm saying the bit rate is not where it should be with the DTS MA
Mono on the original Conan therefore The mono doesn't sound as good, however, the linear PCM for the second movie is pretty great, Atmos for both films can vary considering the first film is technically an up mix of the 5.1, so if you have mixed feelings to negative, you're not going to have too many Good things to say about that mix, however the new mix they done for destroyer is pretty good. The reason why I didn't bring up Atmos is because well Spencer might be coming around And bringing his two cents.
If you want an example of the problem for the mono on Conan The barbarian it only hovers around the 1 MB per second and then dips occasionally.
Destroyers keeps a good, healthy mono throughout its run time.

The only thing that matters is how it actually sounds and an 850kb/s DTS-MA 1.0 track is more than enough to sound perfect unless it's been tampered with.

If you really think there's something wrong or subpar with the track (not just bitrate), post up spectrograms and some actual objective data to back what you think. Bitrate often means nothing and is usually very low on totem pole of things you want to see (hear) in an audio track anyways.
I have the jp ld I might patch it up to the uhd when I have time
The UHDs are sensational. I’ve been planning my review but my stupid player keeps breaking. I just need to compare the audio directly to the dvd I have and the theatrical Barbarian LD.
Both films have original audio.
The only flaw is there is a tiny blink and you miss it color shift in one shot in Barbarian.
