Gold Standard Collection

Right now, I've got the following projects immediately in my hands:
  • After Death
  • Akira
  • The Beast Must Die
  • Blade Runner
  • The Civil War
  • The Fellowship of the Ring
  • Fistful of Dollars
  • For a Few Dollars More
  • The Jewel in the Crown
  • Jurassic Park
  • Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro
  • Odyssey
  • Once Upon a Time in America
  • Reservoir Dogs
  • The Return of the King
  • Star Wars
  • The Terminator
  • Terminator 2: Judgment Day
  • Top Gun
  • The Two Towers
  • The Wolverine
  • Zombi 2

Out of those, I'll try to figure out what I can do immediately based on what's immediately available. I'll post back here as soon as I figure out which project to work on first.

I'll confess I still don't yet know which project I'll be doing first, but the groundwork for at least one of them, I can confirm, is being laid. I'll also be preparing other projects, including Odyssey, Akira, and The Wolverine, sometime later in the week. Whichever one proves to be easiest to do at present, I'll do first.

What are you planning to do with Once Upon a Time in America in terms of colour & audio out of interest?

Still trying to figure that one out. When I decided to restore the films of Sergio Leone, I figured I'd best start with the Dollars Trilogy, since it's more well-known than his Once Upon a Time Trilogy (which is only slightly less well-known), so it wasn't at the top of my priority list at the time. Right now, I'm wondering if I should just give it a yellowish tint like his Western films, which appears to have been his intentions if the 2014 restoration of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is anything to go by. I do know, however, that I'll be doing different cuts of that one.

Regarding Terminator 2, the method I'll be using will be similar to that which will be employed for The Wolverine if reports of the 3D version's runtime are anything to go by.

As for the original Terminator, I'm going to try to reintegrate at least a couple of the Terminated Scenes, regrading them manually to match. One scene I will definitely include is the scene where a wounded Lt. Traxler gives Kyle Reese his gun as they escape the police station massacre. I might also include a scene at the end which foreshadows the plot of T2.

Yeah there seems to be some debate over the original colour timing but I've never been able to find any 35mm scans to support the argument one way or the other. I've got KK650's edit with natural colours but it would be interesting to see one with more earthy tones.

Is the original mono mix abailable anywhere?

Before I answer, I'm assuming the mono mix you're referring to is for Once Upon a Time in America, correct?

Maybe on the DVD, but I may have to grab something from the laser videodisc. I know for a fact none of the Blu-ray releases have a mono track.
