[Fan edit] Ruling Class - Hunger Games

That's nice to know! Smile

Quote:So, the only thing I'd like to see is a clear [Fan Edit] in the front of the thread title (I could always add a prefix for it); what do you think?

I'll see if I can edit it in there and I'll definitely use that in the future. I have a LOT of ideas for new edits and I'm fanediting as one of my main hobbies at the moment. I love the challenge of it and the work is really the reward.

Quote:Back on topic: happy to have you here, sixtysix; it's the first time a newbie come here and in his debut thread introduces a project! Ok

Thank you very much for your warm welcome! Since /r/fanedits has slowed down like it tends to over the summer, it's nice to meet other film enthusiasts on active communities like this!

Quote:Don't know if people would appreciate it or not, but IMHO you should continue to do that mainly for yourself; then, if people would like it, it can be rewarding... if not, you did it for yourself, after all!

I know I can't please everyone but maybe one or two people will enjoy changes I've made... and that's enough for me. I primarily do the edits for my friends and family because we talk about serial productions and films quite a bit.

This is a warm reception and it is really nice to see that online these days! Smile

If anyone has any feedback about the screenshots or if you view this fanedit and have some criticism, I would be very pleased to hear about it even if it's highly critical. That doesn't bother me as whenever a great perspective presents itself I try to comprehend it with as little bias as possible.

I do requests as well if it's a project that meets certain criteria, as follows:

1. Material has scenes that fail to add to the story
2. Material was poorly executed in parts
3. Material presented ideas that were physically impossible
4. Material was loaded with filler because of some executive mismanagement
5. Material caused confusion
6. Material included scenes that were not filler but failed to achieve their desired result
7. Material could be improved with a fanedit, in order to improve pacing, story and visuals

tl;dr: Cuts, re-sequences, visuals, and audio changes are all great if they improve upon the original material

I don't see an edit button in the thread post so I will just use [Fan Edit] for future submissions. Smile

At the end, we did some projects that could be considered fan edits as well - talking about mine, open matte versions come to mind.

So, the only thing I'd like to see is a clear [Fan Edit] in the front of the thread title (I could always add a prefix for it); what do you think?

I agree with your views on Fan Edits, they do cross into the territory most on this board indulge in.

The 'Fan Edit' in this thread is a different beast than the projects we normally post here thou, and I think it would be best to give them there own sub forum section to keep them separate.

Sorry if this is derailing your thread sixtysix Smile

sixtysix, added [Fan edit] in front of the title.

Happy to know you have more projects ready... waiting to see them.

CSchmidlapp: if we should add a subforum only for fan edits, we should talk about it with other admins and mods; for the moment, as it's only this one - we should consider also jerryshadoe's TWA if we want to be more precise - I think a simple prefix would do for the moment... if more will come, we'll start a thread about this.

Hey, alright! Smile

For tv series edits, I'll do a separate thread per episode and another consolidation post, if that works. Dexter has two episodes done and The Walking Dead does as well, although I may rebuild the Walking Dead edits now that I have a better Bluray ripper than Acrok (switched to CloneBD/AnyDVD).

Please do not do that! Just a single thread per series, then you could update the first post with each episode progress, or, better, a link to a single post within the same thread - for example, each episode worth a single post, talking about not only its progress, but eventually what you did on it.

Think if we would start a single thread per episode... 200+ only for The X-Files, think to Star Trek! Eek

The sequels definitely need some trimming to reduce them of at least one film! I actually never watched the 2nd part of the third film because it was already a drag to sit through the first part and the second seems slow-paced too.
AKA thxita on OriginalTrilogy
I preserve movies as they first appeared in Italy.
