I do have several DVDs I've kept or repurchased over the years since Blu-ray disc debut in 2006 due to mainly those releases having bonus features, even trailers, which weren't carried over. A very easy example is RoboCop. The Criterion Collection LD/DVD and MGM 2-Disc DVD still have exclusive bonus features not carried over to the Blu-ray discs or UHD releases. The ARROW BD & 4K UHD releases are absoutely stellar, and of course due to licensing or whichever don't carry over every bonus feature from prior disc/optical formats.
There's an extensive listing on the blu-ray.com forum for many but is only for Blu-ray disc, even though 4K UHD have many of the bonus features carried over. Many are even audio commentaries which have last been on LD or DVD and have never been featured on the two most current disc formats.
It's quite easy to use MakeMKV for the video bonus features, even trailers, on the DVDs but I'm unsure of what program to use for audio tracks. There's a plethora of LD audio commentaries, some from DVDs, which have been preserved as AC3, some MP3 which should be redone as AC3, that I could upload or make available. Those audio commentaries are ones I've downloaded ages ago which should be readily available.
Any recommendations or other ideas? This might be easiest for DVDs which are OOP or difficult to find. Of course, the interest regarding specific films is a factor.
