Since there isn't actually a section on this site dedicated to this, I figured I'd post about it here in my intro. thread. As some of you may know, I've been doing a lot of tinkering with VHS capturing. Something else I like to do is make my own custom DVD covers modeled after the VHS cover itself. I've done a few, mostly Universal Monsters, but other non-horror films too. Here's an example I've something I've done.

I grew up with those covers and have managed to find one or two. Many still held onto them because they were so awesome. The only thing that could surpass them would be original poster art which they did in 1999 and now sadly that has gone too in favor of photoshop jobs.

I respectfully disagree with you. The poster covers are nice but not sure I would have found them as enticing enough as those portrait covers at the young age I was when I started collecting these films and thus my love for Classic horror would have never begun.
