Are there any projectors that can advance frame-by-frame with a button or something like that? I don't really know much about it at all, maybe it's a standard feature, just curious. Because if that is possible, I imagine one could use some programmable microcontroller and electrical components to control both the camera and frame advance simultaneously and thus have a fully automated process that would still take a little while but at least not need attendance.

Edit: Additional question, if I wanted to use a smaller sensor for some quick and dirty scans, is there any good material to get a nice uniform background lighting? Some kind of milk glass perhaps? I'm asking because a smaller sensor would mean a bigger depth of field and so any unevenness in the background would automatically become more visible and apparent.
