The Hateful Eight 4K with More Accurate Colors English Titles, and at 24p
#11
The Italian Blu-Ray is supposed to be from DCP too, Italian titles, credits and all. Not 4k though. I think the colors are like the Russian version although I won't be able to check it for a couple of weeks

I preserve movies as they first appeared in Italy.

It seems the Swiss BD from Ascot has the same DCP color grading:

OT: I am checking this on the phone, and DCP snow is white, while on my UHD display it is green... and AFAIK it is well calibrated - or, it is what I thought until NOW!

I would not describe the DCP colors as green, based on my viewing on my TV and on my monitors. I could maybe see someone calling it green, but only very mildly. Not nearly as green as the Blu-ray is blue.

I didn't have much time to work on this this past week but I hope to do some work to solve the weird framerate issue in the next few days.

For some reason the Blu-Ray drive on my PC does not want to read the disc anymore, it doesn't actually "see" that there is a disc inside, I'll see if updating drivers or some hocus pocus like that can fix it

‘The Hateful Eight’ Extended Version is Now on Netflix…as a Mini-Series?

Quote:Skimmed through some scenes from the extended version, having seen it in 70mm. The new version doesn’t have the blue 70mm TWC logo, Cinerama logo, overture, intermission, and the entr’acte (with the Crystal Gayle song).

Instead, there’s a recap in the beginning of 2~4 parts, showing a scene from the previous part. The Jesus cross opening titles and closing credits are shown in all 4 parts. Netflix allows you to skip the recap.

This version contains the chicken plucking scene from the 70mm roadshow, but contains the regular multiplex version of the Daisy guitar scene with the crank shot in the beginning.

What surprised me the most was that there’s an entirely new footage that I have never seen before, during the Channing Tatum flashback section. It’s not even in 70mm and regular versions. I’ve read about this deleted footage from the screenplay book, but I never thought they actually shot this particular scene.

This is what I gathered so far. It does include additional footage after all. This version instantly reminded me of Tarantino’s wanting to turn “Django Unchained” into a 4-part miniseries some time ago, including unused material.

Actually, it has like 20-30 minutes of new footage.

Quote:Vast majority of the 45 minutes is just extra opening & closing credits, with a few extra deleted scenes (such as the Chicken Plucking scene) from the Roadshow Edition included.

Basically the theatrical cut split into episodes, with 2 or 3 extra scenes. Not actually 45 minutes, closer to 5-10 minutes of new footage, and 30ish extra minutes of credits

Apologies if I misled anyone, I haven't seen it yet and was comparing the running times of the theatrical to the episodes, without accounting for credits, since Netflix advertised it as an Extended Cut.
