Cinema DTS logo in front of projects?
#1
I was wondering whether it would make sense to add a nice DTS logo in front of projects that use Cinema DTS audio.

In particular this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtzEa62KXBE

The audio is, I think, also on some or all Cinema DTS discs. For the video, I see one of these on German ebay atm, which I could buy and get scanned.

Did cinemas use to play these ahead of movies or nah? Because clearly it only makes sense if it resembles the real cinema experience.

I think I have this trailer on a DTS Demo DVD

Yes, it was shown in front of movies that had DTS, just like Dolby used their trailers when the movie was presented in Dolby Digital. But I think they only did it in the 90's. I can't remember ever seeing these trailers in the 2000's, except Dolby Atmos trailers.

Yep saw it many, many times back in the day. I remember people getting all excited when they first saw it in front of Jurassic Park.

Might be better to create a whole separate intro with trailers and the DTS bumper, similar to Jonno's great intros (he has an amazing Dolby Stereo recreation).

Interesting. Well, most movies we have DTS for are before or around 2000 anyway, so it would be fine I think. Next answer will be to you both.

Awesome. Did it show directly before the movie or first thing before the trailers started? Or was there a particular order including other things?

I never heard of jonno's intros. Where would I get that/see that? Trailers and all sound nice, but may be a bit overkill I thought. What's the bumper? You mean the logo or is the bumper something else? And what's a Dolby Stereo recreation?

Thanks, I know I can find the DVD. If anything, I'd do a proper 35mm scan for this though.

IIRC, that intro was on the James Bond ultimate edition DVD sets. It only played if you selected the DTS tracks from the menu.

Weird - that's one of my old edits. I don't even remember sharing it - perhaps I upped it to OT at some point?

Anyway, I've subsequently upgraded this one (scope and flat) using 35mm materials. They're a little rough due to the sources, but perfectly watchable. PM me if you'd like copies (regular posters only, please).

I remember seeing that logo in front of the original Saw film... also The Matrix Reloaded. (at the same theater)

The one currently on ebay (35mm) has a bid now. Is that any of you guys? Cause otherwise I'll put a bid myself.
