That's interesting. When I originally muxed all of those audio/subtitle tracks, I used mkvmerge and put them all in an mkv. I have dropped mkv's in tsMuxerGUI before and had no problems remuxing into m2ts, however whenever I tried to drop the "the matrix" mkv into tsMuxerGUI it would give me an error, saying that the maximum amount of audio/subtitle tracks has been exceeded and would fail to load. this is true with the older and newer versions.

Ah, I bet the trouble is with tsmuxer's MKV import code, if you manually add the tracks like me (I started from raw streams, not an MKV), it lets you go over 32.

However, I just realized that with the amount of audio tracks there, it may go over that 8mbps non-video spec... hmmmm....

I sure hope it's that simple!  Also, FWIW, I tend to try to give all my stream files really short filenames, because going through and applying language codes to each of them in tsMuxerGUI is a big PITA if the language-identifying part of the filename gets truncated in the display.

Oh, and one more thing that might be a factor--I mux graphical BD-SUP files, not SRT files.  It's possible tsMuxerGUI has some sort of limit on its SRT-to-SUP converter too.

Yeah, the 8Mbps limit is a real nasty thing once you get close to it.  Audio tends to be CBR so you can make pretty safe assumptions about that, but subtitles are all over the place.

The only way to test it is to burn the potential coaster and watch the whole thing beginning to end.  If the player goes crazy at any point during the movie, you went over, but you don't know by how much, so it's trial and error.  I personally would cut lossless audio first (replace it with lossy), replace any high-bitrate lossy tracks with more typical bitrates, then start cutting alternate audio tracks altogether.  I don't cut subtitles

Bah! It seems the Blu-ray spec IS limited to 32 subtitles in PGS format (you get a few extra with a text format, but it's still limited even then). Although you can get tsMuxer to mux more than 32 PGS titles onto a disc, that disc is non-compliant and could have unpredictable player behavior (gave my test machine a hard lock).

So sorry, looks like MKV is the way to go for super-mega-ultra internationalized preservations!

Heads up: it seems that max audio bitrate for audio on BD is 20mbps; of course, combined with video, total should not exceed 48mbps... so, we are ready to add even more audio tracks!
