DTS Stereo, how many channels?

I want to find out if the japanese movie (not the remake) "Dark Water" (the Arrow release) has the original mix. I suspect it's a remix.

But I can only find this logo in end credits:

   

DTS Stereo is 5.1? I don't think so, and I think must be LPCM 2.0 stereo. Am I right?

DTS Stereo was a short lived 2 channel matrixed version of DTS. It was a stop-gap for theaters that couldn’t handle 5.1 right away. While it still came on discs, using the same compression, the system functioned just like (and may of used tech from) Dolby Stereo.

A lot of films with DTS Stereo also has proper 5.1 mixes but there could be exceptions. Regardless end titles have been known to lie before.

Few notes:

- DTS Stereo was released digitally on DTS-S CD-ROM while Dolby Stereo was printed as an optical track; on the theaters the former should play better than the latter; for home theater use if the studios used the original 4-track (LCRS) or 2-track (Lt-Rt) master no difference should be found; if those masters could not be used for any reason then the DTS-S source has a clear advantage against a scan of the optical Dolby Stereo track

- Ultra Stereo used also a matrix surround like Dolby, optically printed

Both could be decoded as well using the same decoders one could use to decode Dolby Stereo/Surround tracks, like Dolby Surround/Pro Logic I/II/IIx/IIz/DSU, DTS Neo:6/Neo:X/Neural:X, SRS Circle Surround I/II and others.

As the matrix encoding/decoding process is lossy, there is no way to matrix encode 4 tracks into 2 then extracts again the original 4 tracks without some quality loss; so results vary not only from decoder to decoder but also from track to track.
