Since there isn't actually a section on this site dedicated to this, I figured I'd post about it here in my intro. thread. As some of you may know, I've been doing a lot of tinkering with VHS capturing. Something else I like to do is make my own custom DVD covers modeled after the VHS cover itself. I've done a few, mostly Universal Monsters, but other non-horror films too. Here's an example I've something I've done.
I do make updates to these when I can but anyways here's a list of what I have so far. Universal Monsters Dracula (2 versions) Frankenstein (2 versions) Murders in the Rue Morgue The Mummy Island of Lost Souls The Invisible Man The Black Cat Bride of Frankenstein Werewolf of London The Raven Dracula's Daughter Son of Frankenstein Tower of London The Invisible Man Returns The Invisible Woman The Wolf Man Ghost of Frankenstein Invisible Agent The Mummy's Tomb Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man Phantom of the Opera Son of Dracula The Invisible Man's Revenge The Mummy's Ghost House of Frankenstein The Mummy's Curse House of Dracula Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein Creature from the Black Lagoon Revenge of the Creature Abbott & Costello meet the Mummy The Creature Walks Among Us Misc. Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1994 VHS) Jaws (3 versions) The Incredible Hulk (1990 VHS) Grease (3 versions) Jaws 2 (1983 VHS) Jaws 3 (1983 VHS) The NeverEnding Story (1994 VHS) Star Wars Trilogy (2 versions) Star Wars: A New Hope (1995 VHS) In the Works Star Wars: A New Hope (1992 VHS) Raiders of the Lost Ark (1989 VHS) Indiana Jones Trilogy (1989 set) Tootsie (1993 VHS) RoboCop Trilogy (1995 set) The Indian in the Cupboard (1996 VHS) Casper (1995 VHS) It's ongoing of course. If anyone wishes to see some more of these shoot me a message. If anyone wants to help out leave a post below. Here's a list of the front artworks I need for my Monster covers either for updates or covers I havent done yet. Dracula Dracula (Spanish) Frankenstein The Mummy Bride of Frankenstein Tower of London The Mummy's Hand The Monster and the Girl Man Made Monster The Wolf Man Captive Wild Woman Phantom of the Opera The Mad Ghoul House of Horrors Creature from the Black Lagoon Thanks given by: captainsolo

I grew up with those covers and have managed to find one or two. Many still held onto them because they were so awesome. The only thing that could surpass them would be original poster art which they did in 1999 and now sadly that has gone too in favor of photoshop jobs.

I respectfully disagree with you. The poster covers are nice but not sure I would have found them as enticing enough as those portrait covers at the young age I was when I started collecting these films and thus my love for Classic horror would have never begun.
