Laserdiscs the size of Tractor wheels with UHD and Audio that will blow your ear drums
But they must be better. No super8 film-fade (from that famous film company ... doh!) and perfect-read laserdisc electronics that doesn't cost $$$,$$$ !!Seriously though, they really need to take a cue from the gun industry and make it savage-sexy (like the AR-15, a common rifle tricked-out to look wicked). Hey Kodak! Try something like this: http://collectiblend.com/Cameras/images/...-Super.jpg
Nice find, SW! ANALOG IS THE FUTURE (we should've known better)! In related news, George Lucas, ever the innovator, will film his next Star Wars movie in Super8! "This will give use even more resolution," he said to our reporter. "It will easily upstage our digital movies." - Fakenews Networks.
Great read, I'm excited about this Super 8 resurgence, thanks for sharing SW.
Could not be surrounded by any better people than those I work alongside here.
That is what is awesome about this place. People with like minds and passion coming together to make things happen.
Forgot to mention, but, if they join, the project makers can also get particular help (allot of members here are full of ideas & suggestions) and even pool together as a group effort in their common interests. Very helpful.
thanks BT, Sporv replied via PM as well, maybe they join and like what they find, from the normal set of encoders/rippers/muxers they both take things about as far as it can go short of doing what happens here
All else aside, FanRes is an "open forum" and anyone can join at any time. Just click the above "Register" (which is shown when you're not signed-in) to join. "Join" allows one to post (including in this Shoutbox). But FanRes is a resource even for those who don't join, they just can't add to the sum of knowledge here. They still can "lurk" to see what others are doing, if they want (of course). Even then, FanRes fulfills a function of spreading the love of preservation and creativity -- a win/win for everybody!

but what they do, is 1 step below what is happening here, so if they want to learn something new, maybe this is the place for them
in the sense that there is zero guarantee anyone that joins will participate, none whatsoever, it is
I wasn't making a point, just an observation, based on my experience here. Projects worked on here don't magically appear as you well know and It is exactly why some areas of the forum are only open to those who participate. Definitely nothing moot about that.
I don't speak for them, they are their own people, but they are 2 of the names that stick out in private tracker world because they go beyond what most other users do in terms of their releases. That makes me think they may be a good fit, but am I certain, of course not
considering there is no guarantee anyone that joins will participate in the site after joining that is a moot point, all that is is closed doors as without your prerequisite guarantee, nobody could join
I think it would genuinely depend on wether they are actually interested in participating in the site as members or just the software being created from scratch/updated/used by folks for projects? I do not speak for admin on this, just my experience as a project maker here.
sporv, I see you have been replying on forum, any answer to this would be appreciated, have a few people that I think would be very interested in that software you dudes are using
don't know if anyone is here right now, but is there a specific process regarding inviting people here, is it closed, open?
I hang with Quigon on most occassioins nowadays, the Emperor Palpatine's New Clothes were never impressive, he's just an attention whore anyways. LOL!!!
All the Emperors hang around ... The Senate. (Thanks for that give-away, GL!)

I didn't even know until yesterday that he has ties to Twitter, the Emperor that is, lol.
The darkside banished OT to a Twitter page, I hope they at least got store bought cookies, lol.
I'm glad to see the site isn't locked anymore. I know I said sorry for using the "s" word twice in a post but I don't think I'm to blame for this ... then again, worse has been said about me for far less. LOL
The mere humans always try to put the "fear of the gods" in everyone, but we TITANS just Arnold-laugh! <-- "Hercules In New York" reference

Ve-e-ery interesting that our dear PostImage's website is suddenly attacked ... AFTER ... we started discussing OT's format. (Did anyone else notice they (OT) have the "Death Star" as their logo?

^ Never mind my suggested dark design. I just went there and white isn't the new default. Too bad, I thought there might be new blood at OT -- but just same old same-old ...

(Actually, Postimg squished it in their preview.) Anyway, don't they know the power of the dark side? (Or that's what they WANT us to think? Clever Sith.) ... https://s9.postimg.cc/juzay33y7/OT_dark.png

OT turned white? https://s20.postimg.cc/nlcjvjwzv/OT_white.jpg - I like it! EDIT: they introduced two themes, one dark and the other light, like us
Imagine how many sales they must have lost by not putting out there that their DVD was in 16/9. This was the time where people didn't buy 4/3 DVD because they wanted the best for their newly bought widescreen TVs
Nope subs are only french & english. Why would they list 4/3 on the box I have no idea. I love those weird releases with unique soundtracks.
Ah, the Dutch RCV release seem to differ from that one.. Maybe an earlier release from RCV, when online listing where not that well maintained...
Does it have Dutch subtitles? RCV is a company that seems to release in Netherlands and Belgium.
Here's a link to the cover of the weird Pulp Fiction DVD which contains the surrounds mixes http://www.degaine.com/jaquettedvd/P-jz/...ion_v3.php
"Have you checked out what Google is up to? Google knows and stores an insane amount of information about you that you probably don't know about. ... you can log into your Google account and view your personal data and tracking history ... You can even download it as one giant file. Just don't try to print it because it will be several million pages." http://www.glennbeck.com/content/audio/4318-hour-1/
I noticed this has way more information on the edges than the regular Blu... If anyone is interested

At first I thought it was a boot because it's listed as 4/3 but it has an anamorphic print with fully professional menus and it's a factory disc. Probably another one of those weird Belgium DVDs like the Seven DVD which had the Criterion Laserdisc master and soundtracks in anamorphic.
So another catch... In the bargain bins of a used DVD store, I score one weird Pulp Fiction DVD boasting 2.0 DD apparently original soundmix tracks for both french and english. The french has been on a few french DVDs before, but the english 2.0 only appeared in Greece, Scandinavia & Australia. I checked and this looks like a belgium DVD only is unlisted anywhere.
Poor Mr Kinney is killed by ED209 again, and again, and again... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t66SNWIBb4I
I think Apple has some great software for video editing, but it seems to lack an open source community...
Thanks yeah, I know, and these are people who considers themselves as computer for artists LOL
Well, no offence, but when it comes to getting things done, Apple isn't exactly the go to anything. I suppose you can try and google reauthoring and OSX
Thanks it seems all possibilities are Windows software isn't there one on OSX? That's weird.
Guys I want to replace a dub track to a DVD, without re-encoding... How do I do that since the vobs are in fourt parts and my audio is one file?
A local auction house might be better for fans. Propstore probably gets a nice chunk of cash upfront which might make beginning prices for average folks unaffordable. It's just a guess though.
Nearly all The Shining items sold. Somebody wanted that Overlook Hotel carpeting bad! http://www.astebolaffi.it/en/auction/754/10
I'm hearing a bunch of items went unsold. No idea which ones though. I thought a local auction house was an odd choice as an outfit like Propstore is better suited to movie memorabilia.
AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH it was a bunch of mistakes that made their way to this auction. Just goes to show you: Try never to pollute the information stream, because it’s nearly impossible to clean it up again.
No, SilverWook, NO!! Don't get a key! Don't open that door! DON'T WALK IN!! Before you know it, you'll be growling ... "He-r-r-r-re's WOOKIE!"

The Italian auction description has been badly mistranslated and a whole lot of websites simply ran with it. It's not a deleted or "lost" scene. I've seen a facebook post by the co-author of the book about Kubrick's persnal assistant who has actually held that fim in their hands. It's from a release print.
I don't know ... that "deleted scene" (as opposed to a "deleted shot") had better be the longest, most story-give-away scene in motion picture history. We should demand a frame and shot count. Here's a "sneak peak" from the auction site (under my magnifying glass
anyone recognize this shot?) -- https://s9.postimg.cc/gk3i113f3/The_Shin...akpeak.png
anyone recognize this shot?) -- https://s9.postimg.cc/gk3i113f3/The_Shin...akpeak.pngI think a group effort is in order if we're to bring that deleted scene to light.
About Shining cut with deleted scene: if it will end up at "only" 3700$, it will be a bargain (even if I'm pretty sure final price will be a lot higher!)
“ 'The Shining' fans may want to save their money for what is probably the most lucrative item being sold: A rare cut of the iconic horror film featuring a deleted scene never released." -- http://www.indiewire.com/2018/03/stanley...201941830/
@BT: in regard home media releases Japan trumps the rest of the world more than a few times.
"CX is a noise reduction system for recorded analog audio. ... CX would later see success as the noise reduction used for the stereo analog audio tracks on the LaserDisc format. ... its primary reason for adoption was to decrease the amount of interference between the right channel's FM audio carrier and the video carrier's first chroma sideband." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CX_(audio)
@SilverWook "U.S. discs don't even have CX ... Only the Japanese TOS LD's have digital sound." -- D'oh! "JP TRUMPS US"!!
@Stamper "Apparently the DVDs ... are faded out and lack definition." -- Ah yes, but fixable, at least on the picture level (I haven't worked out a video stream fix): https://s9.postimg.cc/t4f4eui33/Star_Tre...tweaks.png
That LDDB listing is in error. (The U.S. discs don't even have CX and I own a few.) Only the Japanese TOS LD's have digital sound. They only came out in season box sets which tend to be expensive even today.
However some have noted some errors in the mono or a few places where they used a folddown of the 5.1. There's an OT thread somewhere, but on the whole for a ridiculously low price you get almost everything in the original mono.
I'm very curious to try those LDs but they'd be insanely expensive. For my first TOS viewing last year I got the BDs and they are on the whole excellent-with the original versions and mono selectable on the main menu.
LaserDisc Database -- https://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/21379/LV-...r:-Disc-13 notes mono sound in both digital & analog.
Don't leave out laserdiscs -- they are the earliest, "quality" releases, unless you can find TV-distribution film (all faded red by now, no doubt). BTW, the only non-original sound (in the LDs and videotape releases) is an old, "crooner" song in the first season's "City On The Edge Of Forever" because they didn't want to pay royalties. So it was replaced with sound-alike music. The original song was later restored to it's rightful place in the later DVD release and thereafter (after paying the royalty).
The new VFX are horrible, I'm watching on Netflix right now absolute horror and the new credits music just sucks.
Thanks. I'm looking for the original intro music + original VFX so I guess I need to buy those blu ray but they are VC1
