You can use Flash Video Downloader to grab it, then remux it (shrinking it from a 600MB ts format to a 500MB mkv or so). Audio is AAC
avatar
Thanks! Is there an easy way to save this? (I'm not getting the sound when watching it. Some magic codec needed?)

For those who haven't seen it:
avatar
I think it's to pay his artist Marlene Weisman to do the illustrations, the "proposed cover" is likely a rough prototye that Marlene provided for him.
avatar
What I get from reading the kickstarter is that the money taken in goes to create the cover of the book? Maybe they have commisioned someone to do it and need the extra cash to pay them so the print can be released for publishing said book?
avatar
"Chrome" is a dirt word in my house Wink
avatar
You may also try these plugins, depending on your browser: Chrome or Firefox

avatar
Try right-clicking
avatar
Have you noted that from yesterday, is not possible to see images directly into google image searching anymore? You got to visit the website each time... Undecided
avatar
Did some of you back the kickstarter because it passed its goal today? Still plenty of time if you want to jump onboard, should be an interesting book!
avatar
For anyone interested in film history this may be worth backing: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/120...-early-ci/
avatar
I do remember hearing some stories like that as well about the buzzing and such ... long live Block Buster Video ... lol. Smile
avatar
IIRC, there were some early copy protection schemes (pre macrovision) that didn't play nice with certain brands of VCR's, even when connected straight to a tv. One could get buzzing in the audio sometimes.May have been a side effect not intentional. Used to drive me nuts when I would take a rental back to the store and it played perfectly on whatever they were using. I suspect to this day they had one of those little black video stabalizer boxes installed just to avoid givng refunds. Cheap bastards! Wink
avatar
It was always video only Macrovision as far as I'm aware.
avatar
Also, after some searching the web, also no evidence that there where any audio stream based copy protection on VHS. Also no hint that macro vision would temper the audio...
avatar
Thanks
avatar
I never read anything regarding messing with the audio on VHS...
avatar
Hey guys, quick question: are there any known VHS copy protection methods that interfere with audio? I know that different flavors of Macrovision messed up with video, changing it's brightness and color, but none of those ever did anything to the audio signal, right?
avatar
Oh... BTW: I ripped it... And that final stream has said problems on a 7. Gen i7 dual core NUC system with 32gb ram...
avatar
I see the video, but it has digital errors... Both with AnyDVD and powerdvd 16 or 17...the newer one..
avatar
You should rip it first and just play the main feature. You have to use one of VLC dev versions not the current one check out the dev page
avatar
Mhm... Okay, seems as if my PC has problems to decrypt a uhd BD... But at least I got no error putting the disc in, and try to play it on a definitive not new enough PC to start a uhd BD at all...
avatar
Thanks, Bronze.
avatar
Hope that gets straightened out wihtout too much trouble. Coincidentally, FanRes did a "shut down" just a little while ago but it's back up now (obviously). The gods enjoy their entertainment.
avatar
Bad news: a fiber cut knocked me offline just a few hours ago, and I don't know when I'll be back online (even as we speak, I'm forced to use a cell phone to type all this), so I don't know when I'll be able to get out my test release. But I will try to get it out there as soon as I can.
avatar
I am just trying to get the UHD BD of Terminator 2 from my UHD BD to my HDD, just to check if my PC is capable of Playing 4K (on a HD TV)... finger crossed... Would love to check the colors on the 4K...
avatar
Someone turn down the volume on their copy? Big Grin
avatar
That line was never cut lol someone says so below on the page
avatar
[from the same site] - "I still don't buy that [false memory theory]. I've seen movies that have had bits cut out from soon after the initial release (for instance, in the 1980s Batman, the Joker's "Where does he get those wonderful toys?" was soon cut to "Get those wonderful toys.") It was a long time from when I saw the movie until I could read the book, if I ever read it."
avatar
Funny! Never noticed that! (Then again, there's no trusting George Lucas and his CG revisionism.) Okay ... now show me Luke throwing his grappling-hook twice! -- "I saw Staw Wars 7 times in the first week, and several times thereafter. I saw Luke throw and miss. Don't tell me I dreamed it, or got it from another source -- I didn't read the novelization. My college friends and I discussed it after one of those 7 viewings and we all wondered why, while Luke was messing with the rope, that the stormtroopers didn't just shoot under the door." - https://movies.stackexchange.com/questio...edited-out Big Grin

Chris Solo, paging Chris Solo, your party is waiting for you at the service desk. Please pick up any service phone near your location. Chris Solo, your party has arrived and is looking to communicate with you. That is all. Wink [I am just kidding of course.]
avatar
Nah. But I do seen the latest solo tv spot from the super bowl though.
avatar
Has anybody been in touch with Chris Solo lately? I know he's been on recently, but I'm not getting any replies to PM's...

I never realised that Silence of the Lambs is a romance comedy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCoTiU0S85Y I nearly lost it when the "bars couldn't keep them apart" caption popped up!

Meteorologists are sure: Summer 2017 was on a Wednesday...

Long winter.

Another funny theory would be that some factories with big chimneys are used as "low earth aeorsol evaporators" Big Grin
avatar
Enough fun of that topic... It's funny that people really believe in such things... Seriously... Next step of this Chemtrail theory would be that clouds are infumed with something like "aeorsolbombs" as "large scale Chem transports" Big Grin And that just because the flight traffic got that much more in the last decades, that the effect occurs more often that a contrails has the optimum of surrounding not to fade away, but to Form some cloud.

As a veteran I received all sorts of shots on my entry to the military. I don't get vaccinated regularly either so if there is some sort of long outcome cocktail being created I'm screwing it up, lol.

Shocked

I got mine.

P.S. Be sure to watch the inserted Ground-Zero-Lougue YouTube video: "Chemtrails With Flu Virus - Clyde Lewis Ground Zero Lounge 1-27-18"

With the big push of "flu shots", has everyone gotten their's? Or maybe you shouldn't (notice my great segue of related subjects). "Ground Zero: Shots In The Dark" http://www.groundzeromedia.org/1-31-18-shots-dark/

Glad to hear that ... it's a load off my shoulders. Wink (BTW, use the "E" by the date to edit a shout.)

The stop memos were send out.. I did that myself.. problem: water does not want to stop its behalve of being kind of an anomality regarding temperatures...

I beg your pardons ... "rust"?!? -- "Why does bronze not rust?" https://www.quora.com/Why-does-bronze-not-rust -- We bronze "corrode". Tongue
avatar
Regarding Politics: Yeah, that was very "political" if not a "political mother of political discussion" that I did not even needed to name a specific political party, person or even institution, to let everyone know that it was so political, that it gain a level of hyperpoliticalisation...
avatar
Regarding the spelling: I am not a native english speaker at all, and my grades in the school subject "English" always were, lets say, "at the bottom of the pit". (Compare it to "D" - "E" for US grading system)
avatar
Politics and spelling!
avatar
Isn't it awfull unfair how goverments and big cons put all that salt into the oeceans, to prevent people from drinking water out of them, and having to buy fresh, bottled water at horrendous prices?
avatar
As do humid air and salt water...
avatar
BronzeTitan has every right to be concerned about chemtrails, they cause premature rusting Smile
avatar
...but do not tell the chemtrail conspiracy theorists... they would go ragous on the true nature of that effect, if they just would know...
avatar
Pst BT: The goverments have stopped the chemtrail projects, because the studies showed that they provide no results at all...
avatar
Dodgy
avatar
Whenever I look towards the skies (and I'm very tall and have to duck not to hit my big bronze head) I almost always see these http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/news...59/e79.jpg chemtrails, which results in this https://www.metabunk.org/attachments/tra...jpg.12065/ ! So I missed that blue (red?) moon. Sad
avatar
It was even a super blood moon, but no blue moon.
avatar
Few years ago there was a blood moon visible in Germany... I was out on a field at 4 o'clock, it was cold... But it was a great experience. Never saw anything like that in reality...
avatar
Just got back from watching the Super Blue Blood Moon, and what a sight it was! As an added bonus, I also got to watch the sun rise. May not have been a total lunar eclipse from where I was standing, but it was the best I could see here.
avatar
I have a good view of the Lunar Eclipse Wink
avatar
Maybe you should start to announce, and start on, a new project after another project is finished. That way you won't pollute your pipeline to the point you are standing in front of a big brick wall of projects, and you find yourself not getting the breath to work on one project straight through.
avatar
Well, I managed to find a 24fps source for another Saturday morning cartoon restoration I might announce sometime this year, but I won't announce it for sure until I can verify that it's the best source available.
avatar
I can't tell you, it could be any book this early in the year.
avatar
What's the most anticipated book of the year?
avatar
Go through Amazon's customer service system to file a complaint. They'll get that ball rolling.
avatar
Needless to say, that Amazon seller, SarahBookStore, is on my blacklist, and should be on everyone else's, too. I'm sick and tired of these scammers in sellers' clothing.
avatar
This is the first time I've dealt with a con artist on an online bookstore. I'm steamed...
avatar
Next time I get a book off of Amazon, I'm sticking with Prime.
avatar
I'm upset because it never came, it ended up being shipped to the wrong state, and the seller never responded to any of my complaints.
avatar
Ugh, nothing upsets me more than getting conned out of 16 bucks for one of the most anticipated books of the year.
avatar
Also!

Your LD Player?

@ Evit -- How about insect politics? ... "Insects don't have politics. They're very brutal. No compassion, no compromise." (The Fly) ... Are you SURE we can afford to be without politics? Woo
avatar
Oh. Thanks for reminding me. I think I remember the practical reason why I should (i.e. it tends to get lost easily if posted to the shoutbox).
avatar
(PS: no politics allowed on FanRes)
avatar
Why are you posting these information in the shoutbox, Koopa? Leave project updates and announcements to the appropriate sections. Shoutbox is for chit-chat and ripping each other's hair over politics. Thank you
avatar
As for another of my projects, a minor update on Diabolik. I'm working on the subs for the 1992 English dub, which was released on VHS and laser videodisc.
avatar
Course, in the final version I might have to consider using a deblocker, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
avatar
Speaking of which, I'm currently encoding a 1080p test of the pilot opening I'll be using unless and until a better-looking version of the original pilot opening, without footage from the pilot itself, shows up somewhere (garbage in, garbage out, after all).
avatar
And like I said on my Inspector Gadget thread, I'll be doing everything for DVDs with DVDStyler, though I've not yet selected a Blu-ray authoring software, or else I've forgotten which one I was planning to use.
avatar
Come February 2, I'll have almost my entire Spring slate ready for formal announcement, in light of which I'll be one of Punxsutawney Phil's Phaithful Phollowers this year for sure! Big Grin
