Seems funny, seeing as he was the one who could always provoke other users without getting the mods interfered.
avatar
It's a temp ban, appearenly the guy flies off the handles anytime someone uses the word "retard". Sad.
avatar
So after all those years a certain member at OT got finally banned. But I do not know what is more worse: that it took so long, or that people go mad about the decision and defend him...

"Merry Christmas from the American Bar Association (restrictions apply)" @16m53s https://omnystudio.com/d/clips/dae91041-.../audio.mp3
avatar
Both Guardians, Fantastic Beasts also did Frame Breaks
avatar
Guardians of the Galaxy 3D occasionally made the black bars thicker so things could appear to leave the frame. So did Life of Pi, I think
avatar
That's right! Did any other film do that?
avatar
sent
avatar
@OogieBoogie: send me a PM
avatar
spoRV, on the off chance you know, back in the days of blurg there was a fanres dude, cant remember which, that had a thread trying to fund raise for a 35mm print of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, do you know if anything ever happened with that?
avatar
avatar
I know the 3D BD should.
avatar
@FrankT the remake?
avatar
Does the Ghostbusters BD really have the SFX flying out of the frame?

(cue Darth Vader theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRRtOJqB8PU) "Search your feelings. You know it to be true." -- Mark Hamill (AKA Luke Skywalker) crosses light-sabres (AKA Twitter) with Ted Cruz (AKA U.S. senator), loses his (typing) hand, and discovers he IS his father's son -- @ 35m52s of https://omnystudio.com/d/clips/dae91041-.../audio.mp3

You remember/saw the movie "Kentucky Fried Movie"?
avatar
Is 4DX like smell-o-vision?
avatar
I'm going to see The Last Jedi tonight in 4DX, decided to go with it over IMAX.
avatar
Jedi is locked AR
avatar
Question is, where can I find a 7276 grainplate?
avatar
I'm presently working on preparing materials for my 16mm black-and-white restoration of Reservoir Dogs. Obviously, a 16mm grainplate will be used this time around.
avatar
It's probably VAR on IMAX showings, like TFA, but the BD wasn't.
avatar
Maybe in 3D. In 2D it was regular 2.39:1 all along.
avatar
Star Wars: The Last Jedi = VAR! Hope to see it on BD...
avatar
^ ^ True ... true ... Smile
avatar
Actually I think I'll need to sync this video to the audio first.
avatar
I was actually mocking Bronzie's question about what a "movie theater" was. Tongue
avatar
avatar
What are records?
avatar
What's a "movie theater"? Undecided
avatar
avatar
Thanks poita ... that was a cool watch.
avatar
^ ^ Awesome find! Loved the scene creations. So why didn't they match the look (balanced the lighting) more exact?
avatar
@ FrankT - DrDre was working on an super-resolution-algorithm upscaler & tested it on Star Wars (laserdisc).
avatar
avatar
^ ^ ... better than a Utopian dictator hellscape (communist China was the last attempt -- they executed 80,000,000 of their own in peace time) ... just sayin'
avatar
avatar
The FCC just voted to repeal Net Neutrality on the same day Disney announced they're aquiring Fox. Dystopian capitalist hellscape, anyone?
avatar
Regarding movie critics: https://www.thoughtco.com/sony-fake-film...ry-4062655 - it's not the article I remember reading a while back but still quite telling
avatar
@FrankT Have you tried SuperRes in AviSynthShader? https://github.com/mysteryx93/AviSynthShader
avatar
I need to upscale the video and sync it to a DTS track I have.
avatar
Can anyone help me on this? Please?
avatar
I still need help to upscale this video I have.
avatar
@SpaceBlackKnight: I actually made it. I've also recreated the animation in 4K Smile
avatar
But if you hated TFA, you'll probably hate TLJ as well. Maybe not as much though.
avatar
@Valeyard: Well, things that were pretty bad in TFA are worst in this one but the cool things are also better by far. I still don't have a solid opinion on that film. The first half was pretty boring and pretty bad sometimes then the second half was very good. Overall, not a bad experience.
avatar
Only because 90% of professional film critics are complete pay for play hacks who only care about the fact that they get to watch movies all day long as a job. There was a time when Disney had creative integrity and strived to produce good films, now it's all run by the bean counters.
avatar
(Seeing Last Jedi today) Because Abrams made a film that was incredibly successful with critics and viewers, he was the safe choice.
avatar
Why is the hack given Episode IX though? That's what worries me. And the guy they fired, Trevorrow, was hardly a great first choice...
avatar
Haven't seen it, but I'd wager it's likely somewhat different than TFA given who wrote and directed it (i.e. not a hack like Abrams)
avatar
avatar
@ilovewaterslides Would you say that for people who HATED The Force Awakens it's worth seeing? Or was it just as bad?
avatar
Ilovewaterslides, where did you get that CIC logo on your avatar from?
avatar
Hi everyone, i'm new to Fanres though I know some of u guys from OriginalTrilogy
avatar
I did.
avatar
Has anyone seen The Last Jedi yet?
avatar
I did, next time please use report post button
avatar
Mods, please remove links in Tom's last post in Warriors of Virtue thread, in progress, complete projects
avatar
No need to send it back I guess, you just reclaim your money.
avatar
Also, at the moment I have a bigger problem: The battery of my car seems defect... Standing 2 days: no more starting the engine...
avatar
Fair enough, I forgot it was an international order
avatar
Yeah, but I have to use time, to send it back... including wrapping it up, and going to a postal office to ship it internationally.. with driving there.. and time to wait.. then writing (polite Mails) that the item is not as specifizied... I think it will consume about 1 -2 hours...
avatar
If the seller sends you something different to that shown in the listing, then it's 'Not as described' and you're entitled to a full refund, including postage.
avatar
zoidberg: I think the procedure of sending it back and trying to reclaim my money and such is more time consuming than the money would compensate...
avatar
@MrBrown Noooooooooooo! Send it back!
avatar
Damn French... Depicting the old 2 Disc BD Version at eBay... And sending the skynet release...
avatar
Let's hope he didn't compulsively edit it like he did all his other early films...
avatar
George's original student film is showing on Dust this week.
avatar
Double bill 9pm on the 13th! Can’t wait. But I’m slightly worried I can’t look at Daisy Ridley since I met her and made an ass of myself hahah
avatar
Going on the 13th here. Got my seat reserved and a restaurant planned with my friend. Nice day in perspective Smile
avatar
I'm going on the 14th, Israel also gets to see it from the 13th, but I gotta work...
avatar
I wanted to do the double feature but I get more benefit from my Marcus card for the $5 Tuesdays.
avatar
I've got Double Feature tix for an advance screening this Thursday in Dolby Cinema. Get to see TFA and TLJ back to back in my favorite format! Big Grin
avatar
Ok
avatar
I've got tickets for my daughter and I for the 19th. Marcus Theaters here has a $5 Tuesday. We get a free popcorn each. All I have to buy is the soda. Very sweet deal and great time spent with my daughter. Smile
avatar
Ready to watch The Last Jedi on December 13th? It's not friday, so... Big Grin
avatar
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVNIEszp2UQ Live From The Red Carpet Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi
avatar
Previously released HDRip with Korean subs was 2.35:1
avatar
Would take a comparison to see whether it's OM or cropped, or someone who saw it in cinema and remembers.
avatar
IT HDRip seems to be open matte, Imdb lists movie as 2.35:1, but HDRip is 16:9
avatar
I know that at least my TV doesn't meet the requirements... But I plan on changing that next year... As long as the HD Fury box is still available then...
avatar
Well if you're going to play UHD discs without DeUHD, you're going to need to run the cyberlink tool that analyzes your system and reports if you're computer meets the requirements or not
avatar
I need an external drive... They are about 70 Euro... But from out companies... I never heard off... Pioneer external USB slim BDXL Rom starts with 100 Euro...
avatar
My bdxl drive was like £50 4 years ago
avatar
Also, somehow I don't trust deUHD and additionally, it is announced to work with some titles.. Not all of them...
avatar
Even the normal BDXL drives are as expensive as an UHD drive...
avatar
Some of the BDXL drives will work with the software
avatar
If you use DeUHD you don't have to use a UHD drive
avatar
it was cheaper to buy an UHD drive in japan with paying duties ans shipping, than buying one in germany...
avatar
I hope amazon.co.jp ships my UHD Drive this year...
avatar
I tried them all and it's results were fantastic but THE COST!!!
avatar
But I won't go for DVDFab.. I don't like the "ALL-IN-ONE" Solutions.. I love Handbrake to convert Video... and eac3to to slice BD and DVD up into fine parts...
avatar
I used their 4k conversion, it was really decent
avatar
DVDFab Passkey was given away for free and is enough to simply rip and playback DVD/Blurays
