I know they sound similar to you, but I actually love this band. They'll be releasing a remaster of their Heavy Horses in February, that's why the memory is so fresh
I was perfectly okay talking in the thread but then nobody here would see how proud Oogie is about how he made me pay a price about blowing off steam. That is why he posted it in chat and not the thread. He's looking to be congratulated for striking down the evil me, lol.
For the record, you cannot say something behind someone's back when your option to respond personally has been taken away, for no good reason. You actually could have posted in the thread you gleaned the info from instead of posting here.
okay jetrell, i cant respond to your pm as you have me on an ignore list, so you basically only leave me here, yes I did tell Vinnie what you said here, you said it behind their back and openly doing what you do. you do have the right to say what you want to say, but understand that there is no such thing as free speech, everything has a cost, one i made sure you paid, I hope that was clear enough for you. Have a Happy New Year
So I've a rip of the Star Trek TMP SLV japanese laserdisc that includes the PCM audio track. Also have a rip of Koyaanisqatsi's LD track. Whats the preferred upload place?
Frankenstein audio reconstruction will be the first update I will post witin the next few days.... First, I need to read through two months of new posts, lol
Question for Aussies and Star Wars enthusiasts, I was reading this Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinema_Int...orporation (partially taking it with a grain of salt) and saw that CIC had a joint venture with 20th Century Fox and Buena Vista/Disney back in the 70s. If this is true, I wonder if anyone saw Aussie prints of Star Wars having the CIC logo before the memorable Fox/Lucasfilm tag?
It's a collector's forum, their rules. I'm not sure how it would be bad for collectors. Anyway you don't have to post anything and then no one will ever know who you are haha.
Well I did end up using my real name, but I think it's irresponsible towards the users. Why should some random people on the internet know my identity? I see why a seller needs to know who I am, to send the package, but there's no reasonable need to expose who I am in general. Even if they wanted to identify who I am, they could make a separate name field besides the display name
@TomArrow why does that seem wrong? If you use an alias and they find out (which will probably happen the first time you use PayPal to buy a print) you will get kicked off the forum. Ebay is different, you can have as many ebay accounts as you like one for each day of the week if you want.
They do actually. It is due to the fact that collector's offer trades and sales and keeping an eye on these is easier and safer if people know who you really are.
@ TomArrow "Do they really expect you to use your actual real name on that forum?" -- Even my actual name doesn't work for them. What, they're too good for BronzeTitan? (Hmmpf! Where's my sword?)
If anyone knows or hears of a Star Trek The Motion Picture print coming up for scale (or an owner who's willing to let it be scanned), let me know ASAP
Another thing worth mentioning is that the process varied depending on the negative as well. Super35 was quite popular but that didn't allow for contact-printing in all generations through to release print, whereas filming at the native size of the eventual release print (with sountrack) did.
Thanks for the vid link! Tried the YT link for the website but it's gone (or rearranged). Fortunately, Internet Archive has it here: https://web.archive.org/web/201604211704...echnicolor (all the YT vids & lots of PDF docs)
Cool video, Valeyard. I wasn't aware prints were actally printed. I somehow had this idea in my head that they were exposing each print separately and then developing it.
Well then how come you make a point to say to me you dislike coming here because of drama but you're okay with the drama as it happens there? People on all sorts of forums talk about stuff like this. I wasn't mean. I didn't say nasty things. I can't have an opinion on it because you're here? Or is it that you honestly feel bad about some decisions there and don't like being reminded of them once in a while here because underneath your moderator title you're actually a genuinely caring person stuck between a rock and a hard place?
You cannot blame your work drama on me or this site. If I have to walk around on eggshells here because members of OT are members here I will resign my account immediately. Besides, how would you like a banning from OT to follow you everywhere you go? You also give yourself too little credit. I'd say you probably turned it down because you are a decent person and were not interested in a conflict of interest.
Tougher skin has nothing to do with it. (And I never said that to you.) How would you like workplace drama to follow you around everywhere you go? I declined a moderator position here because I thought it would be too much stress.
None of us can have our cake and eat it too SW .... not even me. I'm sorry if you take issue with me having a little fun. Take it with a grain of salt like I do.
Well well, another longtime OT user gets shuffled out ... my congrats to DuracellEnegizer for earning his new badge of honor. Nicely done DE, enjoy the fresh air and don't look back, you are finally free.
