Anyway, is there any real guide on audio track restoration/(up)conversion? Because I could use some help in prepping the LPCM tracks for the BD version of my Computer Chronicles restoration, among other things.
avatar
I am.
avatar
Anyone around?
avatar
Hint: Great Grandma Koopa and her alleged speed are both referred to if you lose to Koopa the Quick in the German version of Super Mario 64.
avatar
Never mind, I just came up with some hilarious text that includes an Easter egg for German SM64 players.
avatar
When I start work on my projects, how should I word the warning screens on them?

LOL@ BronzeTitan

I'M SOLD!! Forget the new Blu-ray! Where's the USED VHS?!
avatar
avatar
Someone on Blu-ray.com said: "I wholeheartedly agree. I saw it tonight on a very large screen - the source is just outstanding in every way that is clearly transparent to the original, natural 35mm look one would expect."
avatar
avatar
I might try to see it, I'll let you know
avatar
Anybody going to check out Close Encounters Of The Third Kind 40th anniversary in theaters this weekend? Heard rumors the new 4K remaster is the grainless horror.
avatar
I'll be away from home for few days... be brave, everyone! Happy
avatar
Welcome aboard, Valeyard! Tongue
avatar
Hi I'm also new here Wink

Welcome killthad! It would be great if you want to present yourself in the presentation thread: https://forum.fanres.com/forum-5.html

Hello, I'm new Smile

^ ^ Lifeforce (1985) -- I know he did other movies & TV episodes, but I wouldn't mind making a fan edit of this one to more illuminate this Kubrick-ian analysis :: "John Kenneth Muir's Reflections on Cult Movies and Classic TV -- CULT MOVIE REVIEW: Lifeforce (1985)" http://reflectionsonfilmandtelevision.bl...-1985.html :: "I admire Lifeforce so deeply and so thoroughly because I feel that ... [it leaves] no taboo related to its subject matter -- sex -- untouched. ... In short, Lifeforce is a big-budget, colossal-in-scope meditation on the consequences of sex in all sizes, shapes, forms, and perversions." :: And we all thought it was just a "T&A" schlock B-movie . . .

^ ^ "You don't scare me, I work for James Cameron!"
avatar
RIP Tobe Hooper
avatar
^ ^ "Because he locks into a kind of mode, kind of a machine. And he clicks into that and only sees the movie. ... And it's tough for everybody on the set. ... I would do a movie with him any time under those very same circumstances." Hmm, I wonder if he has any bronze blood in him?
avatar
My dear pals living in the US: is here anyone willing and able to buy me a 35mm trailer from the Evil Bay? I've found a little treasure, but sadly the seller won't ship it outside the US...
avatar
James Cameron is two-faced, from the horse's mouth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7r1lMT8Zpo
avatar
Ah, the self-healing data discs. Heard about them but never was able to get one. So ... they really work. Smile
avatar
I'd say drive issue as well.
avatar
Perhaps your drive is/was playing up
avatar
How would you guys explain a batch of DVD-R's that had freezing issues being just fine several months later?
avatar
I'd bet it is.
avatar
watched Romancing the Stone on BD the other nigth and the DTS-MA 5.1 was shockingly bad. flat and lifeless. Is the LD audio any better?
avatar
No need to mention I suggested it to you. I'm sure the message has already been sent.
avatar
^^You're welcome. I hope you're ready for unimaginable and golden eliteness on a level unknown to very few and unworthy of most. Wink
avatar
^ ^ Oh, and I, for one, am not easily nauseated by 3D glasses.
avatar
Thanks for the tip, Jetrell. I didn't want to bottle it in, and yet I didn't know where to let it out. (BTW I do have an account there, I just haven't used it for months, if not years.)
avatar
^ ^ From shutter-glasses-induced-nausia, U.S. consumer buying-trends have pretty much killed the old technology of artificial stereographics (although it's still fine for photographs). Try again with true ("holographic"?) 3D and then maybe we WILL see the new Blade Runner 3049 in the new Super-IMAX ™ !
avatar
Political spam, yay. The other site has a political thread ... you're views would fit right in there. Make them happy, share your thoughts with them. They will shower you with affection for it. Smile
avatar
Anyway, back to Blade Runner 2049. I'll be seeing it, but I'm bummed we Yanks aren't getting it in IMAX 3D.
avatar
(BTW for me to have gone off like that Abe Lincoln must really be turning in his grave in reaction to what recently happened in the nation he helped unite.)
avatar
Speaking of films and politics, how many films have yet to have their credits corrected as an apology for McCarthyism?
avatar
But in any case, I'm sure a lot of people are hyped for the new Blade Runner film, and I'm positive that it'll succeed.
avatar
But seriously, I can see why some of us Yanks want to become canucks. Greatest embarrassment since Roger Taney decided the Great American Boner of 1857? Depends on your views.
avatar
Sorry, I just had to get some stuff off my chest before it caused me great illness.
avatar
In short, Donald Trump just committed his first post-eclipse boner, but will it be enough to trigger his Untergang? After Charlottesville, I should hope so. Not even a full year into his presidency, and he's already failed two key tests of moral leadership and made us all embarrassed to call ourselves Americans!
avatar
And a Joe Arpaio pardon from him? I'd bet $21.6 billion on it, if I was a gambler.
avatar
Wow, Donald Trump truly believes that Mexicans are the root of all of America's evils, from George Zimmerman to James Alex Fields Jr., if he's in this much of a hurry to build the Berlin Wall or kill our government from within like a spoiled child who doesn't get his way, as he basically admitted in Phoenix yesterday.
avatar
Will it or won't it flop.
avatar
Also Ridley Scott said he would of added more action to the original to get people 'pumped'! Interesting Fan Service of this one Smile
avatar
I looks like we're getting the Original Opening; I wonder iif we will get the snake dance.
avatar
avatar
Beware! Happy Eclipse day!! The Climate-Change Scientists have scietifically certified that you will turn into a werewolf if you're caught under it! I know I'll be doin' some howlling of my own (lots of bronze babes walking around!). *AhOOoooooooo* *cough* *cough*
avatar
avatar
Did anyone here DL it? Because I, too, have been curious about it for some time now.
avatar
Adywan's Empire, probably...
avatar
I do not know. Things seem to have settled for now. It could be any number of things really.
avatar
Wow, wonder what's generating so much traffic for them?
avatar
Myspleen servers are getting worked pretty hard today.
avatar
It is back up for me as well.
avatar
was down but is now back up for me.
avatar
Me.
avatar
It must have gone down then, I only ask because my computer has been misbehaving.
avatar
I am.
avatar
Anybody else having problems entering The Spleen?
avatar
Most likely not, there's cracked version though available...
avatar
Does DTS even offer a trial version of its MAS Encoder?
avatar
Then I don't think you'll find anything free, legally.
avatar
The listed DTS encoder can only do regular old 6-channel DTS.
avatar
avatar
Google might give you some leads.
avatar
avatar
I would like to know as well. The only one I know of is DTS-HD Master Audio Suite, which is hecka expensive.
avatar
Well, what software would you recommend that won't punch a "Shoeless Joe"-sized hole in my wallet?
avatar
You mean free software? I don't think so.
avatar
Regarding DTS-HD Master Audio... is there any software out there that can encode audio tracks in that codec?
avatar
DVD-R can't have CSS encryption. Well technically you can copy the encrypted files of course, but the decryption keys are stored in a sector that only exists on pressed discs and can't be put on any DVD+/-R.
avatar
Was able to just copy the folders to my HD.
avatar
FixVTS might help you out.
avatar
So I have no idea what's it choking on.
avatar
Imgburn was able to read past any errors that made the discs freeze up in all my players. It just refuses to make an image file from what it thinks is a "multisession disc". These discs were finalized when I made them.
avatar
What a name! I'll take a look at it, thanks!
avatar
Silverwook ... RoadKil's Unstoppable Copier ... I just found it yesterday and it did an amazing job with a very difficult disc but it handled it smoothly.
avatar
I bought a huge stash of Fuji brand when several stores blew them out on clearance and never had problems until now. Discs that are going bad were all recorded in the same month, so I suspect one bad batch.
avatar
Different brand names, but I think both are Tiayo Yuden made?
avatar
Were the discs the same make? Could be a compatibility problem.
avatar
Ok! Thanks all for the info. Still scratching my head as to why one disc gave me no problems and the other did. Both were made with the same recorder and I had not encountered this issue before.
avatar
If DVD-R has some copy protection (which I doubt, as I think you're talking about burned DVDs), just use DVDFab (or DVDFab Passthrough), you'll be able to copy then unprotected files off DVD.
avatar
If your tool cannot.. You can copy the video DVD folder to your hard drive, and use DVDShrink to create an iso...
avatar
Only problem if you got some kind of copy protection...
avatar
Almost every burning tool can create a video DVD from a video DVD folder...
avatar
Ok. If I copy the folders, there won't be any issues burning a disc from them at a later date? The DVD-R is just beginning to go bad and only my PC drive can read it at this point.
avatar
I did not even came to the point to test how it does its work, because I already stopped at the how to work with it, because it was plain not the thing I want and need...
avatar
I can't name the individual files.. just the "discname 01.mkv" name... also i dislike the gui and usability...
avatar
How so? I've never had any trouble with it
avatar
I uninstalled MakeMKV after 5 Minutes, because it is total useless for me...
avatar
There's also MakeMKV
avatar
Is it already a DVD-r? So no copy protection? Just copy the folders... Also DVD shrink did always a decent job with unprotected DVD movie media..
avatar
Can anyone recommend a good program to copy DVD-R to a hard disk? Imgburn is being very uncooperative lately.
avatar
Oh.
avatar
I was commenting on BT's youtube link. Old Saturday Morning animated show. An "X-Files" inspired episode.
avatar
???
avatar
Wow, ReBoot, old school toons.
