What happen? Did another solar eclipse take place where you are just now?

As we approach the one-month lunarversary of the New York Times breaking the Great Hollywood Sex Scandal of 2017, what are your opinions on what's happened thus far, and who'll be the next to go?
Even in the project itself, I can't blow up the video image any further than 4K UHD.
You can handle higher resolution in the free version of Resolve, you are only limited to UHD for the final output.
Sizes above 4K UHD aren't something DaVinci Resolve can handle in its free version, but Blender can do these sizes, even up to IMAX resolution potentially.
BTW I'm presently experimenting with using Blender to make film-resolution reels for my restorations, multiplying the number of vertical millimeters in each frame by 160 for maximum effect. For the Dollars Trilogy, I'm starting with a Techniscope 2-perf negative size.
Returning to the topic of films to be restored... if someone has an old Italian DVD copy of Per qualche dollaro in più (you know, the one that's panned and scanned at Univisium aspect ratio), that'd be awesome, because it has a clean (i.e. titleless) version of the final shot.
You don't tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit in to the wind, You don't pull the mask off the ole Lone Ranger, and you don't mess around with Jim.

Well, as Tevye would say, "You know, he's right! As the Good Book says, 'If you spit in the air, it lands in your face.' "

Well, some people use the ^^ as some kind of grinning eye "smiley". That's quite confusing if used otherwise ^^... Addidionally: If somebody is not able to get his references right, and the way of answering unconfusitional (that word does not exist, does it?) then maybe it is not the problem of the reader, but the writer...

@MrBrown :: Holy participles, Batman! ... "How can a question be a statement?" ... Of course! When it's an interrogative!
(BTW, it's not a "bug", but a "suggestion" -- both of which are under the same forum heading.)
(BTW, it's not a "bug", but a "suggestion" -- both of which are under the same forum heading.)@MrBrown: The Keep from 1983 ... saw the movie in the 80s and since then was trying to find it back, but only knew the German title ...
@BronzeTitan: how can a question be a statement? I statement is more something that I don't see a bug here... I feel the '^' more confusing, especially when used to refer more than 3 entries above...
@spoRv :: The above ( ^ and ^ ^ ) is a good example of the aforementioned "confusion" happening in any case. PDB looks to be replying to MrBrown's immediate statement, which would cause "??" .
This subject might be a good candidate for a topic in the "Bug reports and suggestions" area.
This subject might be a good candidate for a topic in the "Bug reports and suggestions" area. Thanks to all of you! In fact, I was interested in one specific project, which made me sign up ... will follow-up with the "owner" of that one, then.
This is more a discussion and help community than a sharing. The sharing should be done by other communities, there are plenty where to find help getting the projects. As a general tip: be helpfull to project makers, without being too pushy... then a project maker may give you a hint, where to look at, to find the way to a certain project...
How and where depends on the project maker. We do not Share links, just Informations if a project is finished, and in the pre-finished states we talk about what is tried to accomplished, collecting suggestions, help each other, like hints where to find base sources for the projects, or other general input, like "what is the best audio source" "how to accomplish a better image/audio/colortuning" and so on.
I'm new here. So please forgive me for a potentially stupid question: how and where can I find the completed projects?
For example -- (1970) Lucas finishes film; (1971) WB makes minor changes for 1st theatrical release; (1978) Lucas undoes WB changes for his original film release; (1983) Lucas re-edits for TV & Beta/VHS/laserdisc release [SEN/children scene shortened]; (2004) Lucas re-edits with major CG; (2010) Lucas tweaks grading for TV and Blu-ray release ... AND, OF COURSE ... (20xx) Lucas still at it for his TV and UHD release!!
@Koopa Luath :: Can you amend "The original theatrical cut" to read "An early theatrical cut"? -- Commercial video tapes (and laserdisc) weren't of the first theatrical (WB), nor of Lucas's restored-from-WB-cut release (only avialble on film as TV broadcasts), but were of his 1st edited cut (most notable being SEN's shortened childrens scene).
This guy has been working on his own bit of Metal Gear animation for the last couple of years: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JbzYUhiar8
I just now made a note of it on the film's Trivia page on TV Tropes. Friggin' executive meddling...
@BronzeTitan I was hoping perhaps he had less of a say in what version TCM airs these days. Showing the 1978 reissue trailer to promote it counts as false advertising in my book. That wasn't even on the DVD or Blu Ray.
@SilverWook 26 Oct 17:02 - I don't think Lucas would allow it from such a big network; but was hoping for the best. (which, of course, didn't happen)
And there could be the specifying which of multiple shouts from a particular username (from a late-comer). For example:
maybe we should use @username when answering to some post before the last one, to avoid possible confusion... whad do you all think?
^ ^ ^ You mean ... THX emerged to the surface world (actually the 1960's), changed his name to LHO, and took vengeance on OMM (also left & became JFK) for LUH?
@poita, I just watched that Telecine video it was great! https://wn.com/telecine_a_brief_guide
While waiting you can get some new conspiracy theories, embedded in the JFK documents is the entire THX script if you look hard enough
OK, Silver, everything's rigged up and all set on my end as far as I could go, and I even got a backup set to record on another DVR in case anything goes wrong on the primary DVR.

Thanks Koopa! You'll be able to tell early on. If the albino lizard has wings, it's the 2004 cut.

I'll see what I can do. But I can't promise my copy will be in HD; my TV tuner can only capture so many channels, all terrestrial stations. You want an HD capture, you'll have to find someone else to grab it for the time being. But I will try to capture Thursday's broadcast and compare it with my Warner cassette of the PG-rated 1977 theatrical cut.
Is there anyone who could record THX 1138 off of Tuner Classic Movies this Thursday night? Just in case they don't show the 2004 cut.
Anyway, I'm presently working on a digital film leader in accordance with these instructions: https://tech.ebu.ch/docs/tech/tech3203.pdf
But seriously ... thank you for the stone-age concept of a movie projector. Think of where we all wouldn't be right now without it?

^ ^ Which Jesus? "Jesus" is the first name of 261,547 males, and that's just in the U.S. (87% being spanish males)
Sounds like they're so subconsciously unashamed of their past they should just do what WB's doing and release everything uncensored.
With Halloween coming up, do you want to see something really scary? http://www.redbookmag.com/life/mom-kids/...me-racist/ As we all know, that's official ... straight from Disney: http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/mov...story.html So, all project-makers are on notice -- lay off "Moana"!

How old did you say you were? http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/arch...28659a.gif
Does anyone have the Star Trek First Contact HDTV broadcast from about 8 years ago?
RE: Jeff Goldblum song -- I just realized that all Goldblum's movie acting is just playing himself! I wonder if I could get some of that action?
Uh, Mr. Harryhausen ... can we talk?

Flash Sale The Criterion Collection: "All in-stock Blu-rays and DVDs are 50% off SRP with promo code COOP". I hope that's a bargain.

US and Canadian friends, Criterion sale is on for another 20 hours or so! https://www.criterion.com/sale
As I consider that possibility, I'd like some help in identifying the type of transition used for each of the credits slides in this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCAp0hHq_qw
I might expand my Robotech: The Movie restoration project into something bigger: specifically, The Definitive Robotech.
And, speaking of PKD, there's this enlightening broadcast/article: "A Mind Cubed" http://www.groundzeromedia.org/a-mind-cubed/ "During a Science Fiction Convention I was one a panel member in where the topic discussed was about whether or not Science fiction writers are actually prophets. ... my affirmative views on the subject matter [was] by using Philip K. Dick as a legendary mind that has written some insightful commentary in the past that we now are seeing transpire in our present world."

Wait ... wait. The FINAL flight?!? ... "NO-O-O-O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!" GeorgeLucas . . . . . . and the story ends this way --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyrStbpriKQ
Lucky you, Bronzie! That happens to be the 21st and final Flight 666 to HEL on a Friday the 13th!

I'm not gonna take this standing up ('cause it's a pain for bronzed titans to sit down)! I've booked a flight to their headquarters in Helsinki! Let's see now ... the ticket reads ... "Nordic Airline Fin-Air, 13th hour, today (Friday, the 13th), to HEL (short-code for Helsinki), flight 666". Okay, I'm set to get to the bottom of this. https://omnystudio.com/d/clips/dae91041-.../audio.mp3 [start at 28:53]
Hmmm ... Friday the 13th. Now that sounds familiar. Friday the 13th, Friday the 13th. ... Doh! This DOES have something to do with FanRes! I've been punked!
* And now for something completely different * ... This has absolutely, positively has NOTHING TO DO with FanRes AT ALL ... !! happy FRIDAY THE 13TH !!

(Full disclosure: I'm not a big fan of drugs myself. I just can't believe an entire discography/filmography/what-have-you was censored on account of one meth bust. Just goes to show Japan's second only to the Philippines in how severely they punish anyone who touches them drogas...)
See, just a few months ago the Pikachu and Pichu short made its high definition debut in Australia after waiting several years for a new release ANYWHERE on account of the Noriko Sakai drug scandal.
Well, thanks to some lame-ass anti-drug culture over in Japan, I'm importing the Pokémon movie Blu-rays from Australia for sure, hopefully for Christmas.
