There's not much to wait for. New Star Wars is trash and it doesn't even matter who directs it. The two movies they've done so far are just soulless checkbox-ticking cashgrabs, don't expect Ep 8 or 9 to be any better.
The fiction of Star Wars has so much possibilites regarding creative art, story telling and interesting new characters. And all we're getting until this point is a copy-and-pasted OT. I dislike the PT too, yes. But Lucas was brave enough trying to tell a new story. He was just a messy director / dialogue writer.
Bleech. I didn't like TFA and I think J.J. is pretty illsuited for Star Wars overall. The way Disney has been handling the franchise doesn't give me much confidence.
Among other things, I'll try to restore as much footage to the first one as I can, using techniques similar to those used for the restorations of A Star Is Born (the one with Judy Garland), Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Superman II.
Not weird at all, shooting film for commercials and mixing with video content at 60i is very common in all areas of production. Try Double IVTC, one for top field, one for bottom field and interweave the two for 59.94fps output.
Yeah, apparently, the games are presented at 30 fps, and the miscellaneous graphics stuff tends to vary between 24 fps, 30 fps, and 60 fps for some reason.
For example, presently I'm working on a little side project involving inverse telecine and an old N64 promotional video issued by Nintendo Power--specifically, for Diddy Kong Racing, on November 4, 1997. I've already completed the first second of footage.
Of course, there was no need for anything further than my original comment, you and SW chose to voice your opinions. Again, duly noted. I'm not angry at anyone, I am just more open than some, and there's nothing wrong with that. It doesn't break any rules as long as I keep my words civil. I have done that. Now, moving on to better discussions ....
@Jetrell: for the sake of all, we shall stop here... We both stated our points of view... We both may take some insights from the points of view of the other... We have different points of view... That's perfectly fine... I believer digging further could end up on a personal level of discussion, that we both neither need nor want...
^^^^I will only say this MrBrown. While I was a member there I took crap for not having thicker skin so If members from there come here and see a post of mine they disagree with ... then my conclusion would be that their skin is no thicker than mine at times and there should be no reason to judge another for the same thing. They can defend themselves here and there. I cannot and no-one there would defend me when things are said. I blow off steam ocasionally. People that know "me" know this. That is all it is.
Yeah... I live in central Florida. That thing's heading right towards us. Staying with some family instead of our current residence since they have a brick house. Problem is we live in a tin can of a mobile home, so we might be homeless in 2-3 days, depending on how bad the storm is. Only time will tell.
So my rant is not against you as a person, or your personal opinion. It is "just" about the way not few people, in this case: you, state their personal opinion. I have very good personal friends (offline friends in the surrounding) that tend to state their opinion the same way: as a "fact", and I always get aggressive about such things, because it is an opinion, not a fact... But the way it is expressed just sound degrading and insulting...
I don't even have a hard feeling of your opinion regarding OT. If I would be in your shoes, I might have that also, so how can I condemn your feeling and opinion? I cannot. And, maybe with what I read month ago the political the connection was easily made, but not necessarily correct, but if one person make that connection, it is not unlikely that others may do so as well.
I could go further, but for my side I have made all needed statements... I don't need to dig further... I tried to be as polite as possible due to the fact that English is not my native language, and in school I always had bad grades in English language education. Learning languages is just not my cup of tea. It is just up to... In this case you, if you want to dig further, or if you stay at the point reading my critics regarding the way you said something, in the back lights of previous rants and discussions. But if you want to dig further, I suggest it is nothing for the Shoutbox... Just one note: for me it is nothing personal about or against you... If you still think so: Sorry, but that is up to you.
I also don't want to start a a fight... So I tried to formulate my feelings as neutral as possible. It was nothing personal meant.. Just the feel of a political vibre in the tone of your comment.. If I ever would have some direct personal issues, I would address them personal... My post was directly to the way you expressed your personal antics against a group of persons in the way you did.
@MrBrown, there was NO political message or political motivation. Your opinion on my person is duly noted and filed. If you have anything further about me you'd like to make noise about please send me a pm.
Due to the fact that you seem to be mostly bewildered by the major political points of view (and handling that their way), your "fair statement" could easily be seen as a kind of "political motivated outburst", and just while we agreed not to start political discussions, to avoid unnecessary angry discussions, does not imply that everybody shares your point of view in certain things. So, what you call a fair statement, could also be seen as a rude political motivated punch to the guts, even if not directly refer political motivations...
or maybe an approved list might be easier, i honestly have no idea how many projects you guys have done, though i respect the work i dont like all the films so i only go after the ones i like
just an idea, maybe make a list of the projects you dont want shared there, or not yet at least, at least that way admins have a list that they know are no no's
i have jerryshadoe's last of the mohicans, i could have shared that whenever i wanted, had it since old blu days, but i saw he has something written in his thread and would prefer to get permission or not as the case may be
man, i get that i really do, but i doubt he did that with malintent, like i upped 2 fanres and all i did was cp the descriptions from spleen because i was so excited to be able to share them, i was making no attempt to claim it as my own, but what i copy pasted was written in the first person, honest mistakes can happen
i get why you would be peeved that someone stole credit for your work, if that indeed si what it is, i say it taht way as i have no idea, but why not just send a quick message to blucrew, either asking for it to be removed if it is not supposed to be there, or for it to be retagged/credited to those who deserve it
Oh. Well, that name doesn't ring a bell to me in any case, even if I was an admin, which, regretfully, I'm not. But whichever admin does show up, I just hope he can deal with them scalpers.
Anyway, is there any real guide on audio track restoration/(up)conversion? Because I could use some help in prepping the LPCM tracks for the BD version of my Computer Chronicles restoration, among other things.
Someone on Blu-ray.com said: "I wholeheartedly agree. I saw it tonight on a very large screen - the source is just outstanding in every way that is clearly transparent to the original, natural 35mm look one would expect."
Anybody going to check out Close Encounters Of The Third Kind 40th anniversary in theaters this weekend? Heard rumors the new 4K remaster is the grainless horror.
^ ^ Lifeforce (1985) -- I know he did other movies & TV episodes, but I wouldn't mind making a fan edit of this one to more illuminate this Kubrick-ian analysis :: "John Kenneth Muir's Reflections on Cult Movies and Classic TV -- CULT MOVIE REVIEW: Lifeforce (1985)" http://reflectionsonfilmandtelevision.bl...-1985.html :: "I admire Lifeforce so deeply and so thoroughly because I feel that ... [it leaves] no taboo related to its subject matter -- sex -- untouched. ... In short, Lifeforce is a big-budget, colossal-in-scope meditation on the consequences of sex in all sizes, shapes, forms, and perversions." :: And we all thought it was just a "T&A" schlock B-movie . . .
^ ^ "Because he locks into a kind of mode, kind of a machine. And he clicks into that and only sees the movie. ... And it's tough for everybody on the set. ... I would do a movie with him any time under those very same circumstances." Hmm, I wonder if he has any bronze blood in him?
My dear pals living in the US: is here anyone willing and able to buy me a 35mm trailer from the Evil Bay? I've found a little treasure, but sadly the seller won't ship it outside the US...
Thanks for the tip, Jetrell. I didn't want to bottle it in, and yet I didn't know where to let it out. (BTW I do have an account there, I just haven't used it for months, if not years.)
^ ^ From shutter-glasses-induced-nausia, U.S. consumer buying-trends have pretty much killed the old technology of artificial stereographics (although it's still fine for photographs). Try again with true ("holographic"?) 3D and then maybe we WILL see the new Blade Runner 3049 in the new Super-IMAX !
Political spam, yay. The other site has a political thread ... you're views would fit right in there. Make them happy, share your thoughts with them. They will shower you with affection for it.
