And Manhunter... I'm so jealous. And ID4 on July 4th on 35mm... I wish they had shown me THAT when I went to see "Resurgence"!
I'm tempted to go to one of the 70mm Aliens screening. I'd also love to go the the Mann-a-thon to see The Keep
Phenomina Limited Edition: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Phenomena-Limit...06WGSDG22/ - I just bought mine!
To the Britons - Alien is playing in 70mm in London in June, details here: https://princecharlescinema.com/PrinceCh...?f=2329841
Rick and Morty encounter Xenomorphs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BirGJS23Nfo&t=0s
Thanks for the heads-up on their new release! Grab the new manual, too. I hope they improved the interface (you know, like for a video game -- easy to learn).
Anyway, regarding the new public beta of DaVinci Resolve, Resolve 14, would laptops be able to do more than with Resolve 12.5? Or would I still need a desktop for color grading purposes?
I swear by ffmpeg. Not really an AIO solution to anything, but, hey, better than freaking codec packs.
Actually. What Poita said. I was just trying to be nice. My experiences with codec packs have left me with the feeling that codec packs should be avoided. I use ffmpeg once in a great while but it's portable and doesn't affect the whole system.
LOL! Just read those extra pages and found someone familiar! ... Never mind ...
@ AntcuFaalb - Google brought up http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Blade-R...34/page/17 . (Looks like OT keeps losing it's posters w info. Still, read a few pages for leads.)
Mhm.. very valid argument.. due to the fact that the PC is not for.. deep encoding.. maybe a DVD I own for use on my mobile phone or a networked media tank.. but no really heavy encoding.
I'd say not until you find yourself needing it. For playback just use vlc. I currently have only lags and x264/x265 installed for capturing and encoding etc.
I did, but not as much as some of the other alien films. AC is way better than Prometheus!
i think it's gone the way of the dodo. Aside from the older color-timing, which can be found on the early DVDs, I don't remember anything special about it.
Does anyone here have the 15GB or so 1080i broadcast capture of Blade Runner from 2006?
Worse, it wasn't as obvious to me as the 2002 release of My Fellow Americans in 1997 packaging turned out to be, even when I looked at the physical disc's inner ring after the fact.
OK, the actual master dates and times for the 1997 DVD of Bonnie and Clyde, both fullscreen and widescreen sides, are gonna be needed real soon from someone, because now I'm trying to figure out what the actual first WB DVD releases were, and Bonnie and Clyde is sometimes said to be one of the first.
Just to let you American fellow to know that yesterday Alien Covenant has been released in the Italian theaters... hope to watch it today!
Happy to see you around here again, poita... sorry for everything happened lately, hope future will be brighter.
Sorry for everyone waiting on replies from me, my VDSL modem has died, I'm looking to buy a replacement, restricted to free internet at the town library at the moment!
I don't think AACS2 has been cracked. It was probably leaked by someone who handled the disc before it was encrypted for retail.
It's the only 4K-compatible gaming computer I could find at my local Best Buy (both of them), anyway.
I say it's about time! OK! Time to consider getting an Alienware Aurora as our next restoration PC!
Given what I've read, I'm fairly sure it's been cracked. I'm curious to see how it works too. I think the file structure is similar to BD.
As it happens, it's The Smurfs 2. Now we have to learn how to edit another video format.
I happen to have a friend who lives in the Dallas area last I checked, and I just now forwarded it to him.
Guys, anyone from Dallar or Austin that would pick up this LD collection + player for free?!? http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Free-LD...r/id/53885 - if still available, of course...
after what went down with my site I took some time off but have started a new one
Found the colour timing between these frames from two separate trailers interesting. I'm not fussed about the armpit issues lol http://epicstream.com/news/Wonder-Woman-...arner-Bros
I just got hold of the original Aliens THX DVD of the SE (first release). The trailer on that one looks very much like the blu-ray minus the blanket tint! Lots of cyan
Guys, DO... NOT... PLAY... TO... Candy Crush Soda Saga!!! It's way worse than any psychotropic substance... not joking (pun intended)!
been along time.....see my old account was banned after I fell of the face of the earth
Is there a thread or project somewhere for the perseveration of studio logos and idents? Was watching a bunch yesterday (old UA, CBS FOX Video, New World Pictures etc) and was wondering if there was an audience for it? Would be a good resource for other preservation projects as well
Because for AFOD I was hoping to extend the title track a bit in its first couple of uses (specifically, when Joe confronts the Baxters that had earlier attacked him, and later when the Baxters are preparing for their dinner with the Rojos).
Regarding music track replacement... is it possible to isolate the sound effects and dialogue in doing so?
Cool! ... at General discussions -- Everything else -- Recommended BMD setup for color grading :: https://forum.fanres.com/thread-1446.html
Keep in mind that whatever 2nd monitor you settle on, you'll probably need a calibration kit (hardware/software). BTW, is there a thread here with all this kind of info? If not, maybe you should start one so we all can refer to it long after these Shouts fade away. It would make a good thread.
And as for actual stuff from BMD, would their UltraStudio be recommended? Because that's the cheapest external I could find being offered on their site.
Anyway, would a CRT monitor work as the second monitor for color grading, or would something more high-tech be called for in such a case?
^ ^ ^ Thanks for that heads-up on the RIP. Now what does FTW mean? Well according to http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/FTW -- Forget The World, Fare Thee Well, For Those Wondering, For The Worms, Forever Two Wheels, Frank The Welder (mountain bikes), Future Technology Workshop, Forward Towards Wing (Hattrick online game), Families Than Work, Free The Wookies, Forever Truly White, Forward The Word, Full Throttle Workshop, Forever Together Whenever (gaming clan), Face The World, Free Trade Wharf, For The World, Free To Watch, Florida Tax Watch, For The Wolf, For The Wii, For The Weak, Free The Weed, Feel The Wind, Flying Training Wing, Free The Whales, Fight to Win, Feed The World, Feel The Wrath, For The Win, Follow The Way ... WTF (Where's The Fun) ?
Yeah! The Herald Video japanese Evil Dead LaserDisc arrived today. Too bad, I see my LD player next time in two weeks
Anyway, regarding the BMD equipment I'll be needing for manual color grading in Resolve... would a CRT monitor suffice, or do I need something else as my second monitor?
Another for Alien Day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvIctsTvNRQ ... with a superhero, at the end, who is unimpressed with franchise milking.
