Another logo I'm looking for for my Dollars Trilogy restoration, for the German versions of each film, is the Constantin Film bringt Sunburst logo. I'll take what I can get, but in this case 1080p and Scope would be quite preferable.
Regarding the Castilian Spanish track for Fistful, which DVD should I get? The one from Impulso/Video Mercury, or the one from Warner Bros.? (For those wondering, I'm aiming for the original mono track, again.)
BTW anyone has copies of Robocop on Blu? I'm looking for subtitles, in any language, mostly english or french, for the trailer with the music from Terminator. Anyone can help?
Iknow someone who has the tape, he already did a preserv, however he used the blu-ray track for most of the disc, he just patched it wherever there was a need with the vhs. I think the mix are the same?
Finding a decent French track for Fistful is going to be very difficult due to rights issues which generally kept it off the market until 2010, meaning the only DVD and Blu-ray releases I know of to have it were remixed.
Excellent. A combo of Internet Service at 1gbDL speed + box that record programs in hd (you just hit rec on the selection of forthcoming films and everything is done auto) + phone cell can be as low as 35 bucks a month. It's good to scour the offers and switch, especially on cellphones price.
I have neither Cable TV, nor the recording devices... Also Amazon prime sometimes seem to get other masters, compared to DVD/BD release... I.e. Deadpool on Amazon Video has localized Starting credits in Germany.
Also, I wanted to say to european fellow forumers, CableTV is fantastic to still find copies of films with localised titles, that existed for example on VHS, but stopped being available after DVD globalisation of masters.
I also have the french TF1 T1 DVD ripped, it includes the english and french original mono tracks. I don't have the disc, but an mp4 file for the video + the two audio tracks ripped straight. Anyone interested? You can use the video file to resync both. They are worth preservations.
Never saw a trailer switching between framing.. and.. the Terminator 2 Judgement Day and the T2.. just seem to be a bit out of place in the Trailer.. as if the intended Framing was not in the middle of the Frame.. but a bit more at the top alligned...
If there are still frames with artifacts, we can handle them indivdually. It is possible to chain multiple calls to TFM(). Your script does a really good job though.
I just got a german Terminator 2 Trailer on a DVD.. that is quite.. not the trailer I saw somewhere else: German Audio, different from the Movie Dubbing.. and variable framing... sometimes about 1.66:1 and sometimes more the normal widescreen framing... but not centered...
Mhm.. okay... MediaInfo states a 3 channel audio on that disc... phew... thought I had to search for that DVD again.. this time with the unknown audio Now I can go to work...
No, there are interviews or quotes online from the editor, who says the film was shot in square open matte, intended for 1.85. The prints were matted at 1.66 though in europe, but nonetheless shown 1.85.
False alarm! just made a comparison with the DVD, and the only open matte part is the initial introduction, while the rest of the movie is simply pan&scan...
According to LDDB.com the german VCL LD of the Terminator is from 1995... The DVD from 1998... So it is possible that they botched the transfer from LD to DVD...
