Agreed, but it's not quite that easy when you'd have to uproot the family and leave a great deal behind, not to mention finding a new job. Maybe in the future... :-)
In Spring there are sometimes trains delayed due to playing kids on the tracks, in summer it got sometimes such hot that some of the climate systems in the trains faild due to overheating.. in autumn the leaf on the tracks surprises the "DB" .. and in winter.. either it is just the cold.. or the snow..
Well.. in Germany we have the Train system.. formerly known as "Deutsche Bahn" now just "DB - Die Bahn" .. it has 5 big foes for there sceduled train arriving times: "Spring", "Summer", "Autumn", "Winter" and it's own scedules...
Ah good old censors keeping us safe and unspoiled. As James Ferman said about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre: "It's alright for middle class cineastes to see this film, but what would happen if a factory worker in Manchester happened to see it?"
but The company remastered it for the official release.. I assume they just put some DNR on the US BD release.. but still the efford getting it unbanned and released at least qualifies it to be bought, for me.
Well.. there were severall german languaged DVD release in Austria.. but none official BD release.. only a bootleg.. so.. yeah... everyone wanting the movie already got it...
The old movie is no longer banned in GErmany.. mid 2016 the ban was lifted, october 2016 it also was stated not to be harmful for youth anymore.. and janmuary 11th it got the Free for 16 and above FSK rating...
on the other hand: japanese releases often are quite the top notch releases... either due bitrate, or audio options other countries just don't seem to get...
Made a quick comparison between X-Files movie DTS LD and DVD and, apart LD has a bit more red, the color grading seems the same... at the contrary, Alien Resurrection on DTS LD has a very different color grading - still not sure if its master used a silver retention processed print... but colors are so much better! Take a look at the comparison here: https://vimeo.com/202423916
OMG I was wrong! It turns out you CAN still use WindowsXP AND get security updates: https://betanews.com/2014/05/26/how-to-c...ntil-2019/ I hope those of you *cough* ANDREA *cough* have tweaked your registry accordingly!
I think they used something similar to construct the 3D CG models in Tron. Back when computers were so expensive only the 5 richest kings of Europe owned them!
I always thought it looked like a vector based monitor setup. Nice. You can still get that type of physical interface, I use a similar setup for grading.
I can't trust my memory either, I swear I saw an earlier Special Edition teaser which had no footage, which made no mention of the changes, and which used the same " One Last Time" tag line as the VHS releases. I remember being confused if it was referring to the video release or a theatrical re-release. I remember seeing the SE trailer before ID4 and finally understanding. I even swear I saw the earlier teaser around Christmas 1995, possibly before Jumanji. Only problem - the trailer does not exist. Usenet proves there was no trailer for the SEs until spring 1996, and it's the first version of the SE trailer we know
I have to remind him every time it comes up. He also confuses the two movies and is never sure which he saw in the theater at a certain theater. If it was summer '64 I have no idea if it was a later-run Pink Panther or early in the run of A Shot in the Dark, he thinks the latter
There is also debate among my father and aunt over whether my father actually saw Star Wars in the theater, my aunt recalled the exact theater where they saw it, but my dad insists he did not see it until it came to HBO
We were watching Fast Times at Ridgemont High once, my dad (who is not a prude or anything) was surprised to see Phoebe Cates' bare breasts, he had sworn it always cut away
PDB, I can CLEARLY remember renting "The Phantom Menace" on VHS and in it, there was no character named Jar-Jar Binks. I've spent the last five years or so hunting down that VHS with zero luck.
Well, I used the same drive for TSmuxer as well, but it was 14x faster - or, MVKtoolnixGUI 14x slower, pick your poison! If only I could be sure its output is 100% BD compliant, I'd use it exclusively!
Well, you are in good company... here in Italy, too, HD bitrate for FTA is quite low (around 5mbps) that is adequate for low motion films, but not for high action ones... and forget about grain!!!
I can already image you clicking through channels "HD? Mate, this load of **** isn't even proper SD!" (which is what really pisses me off. they advertise HD and UHD while broadcasting potato)
Just recorded Kill Bill Vol.2 open matte from HDTV. 1080i 5 mbps and 25 fps with logos and some scenes hard subbed. Also have second half of the first movie. Just saying in case anyone is interested.
