But hum...
Shoutbox archive
Don't think it's mixed-AR or anything - looks to be straight 2.35 - it's a sub, and alien dialogue has both the English theatrical subs and Japanese subs. I'll upload it but I don't think it'll be of any use.
The alien speech is double-subbed - English in the usual place, and Japanese on the right
Don't think it's worth anything but I'm downloading the subtitled TFA off WOWOW
Today I got my first UHD BD... now I will need some player to use it. The movie "187" in the limited German Mediabook Edition from capelight
Yeah, it's in rice in a sealed bag. I would have bought silica gel from cat litter but the bags were too big and I was travelling abroad, rice had to do. I'm planning to leave it there for 2-3 days then try turn it on. I'm not gonna eat the rice don't worry ahah
@FrankT Rice is supposed absorb moisture from electronic equipment such as phones.
Guys, if you don't see me around much it's because my phone dropped into water and I don't know yet if it's gonna resurrect after three days of being submerged into the rice. We will see
Yeah. The font is comparable to the ANH Greedo/Jabba subs, but the lines are longer, and two-liners are common. *One line* fills the letterbox.
...yeah, I'm aborting. There's no way anyone's gonna make use of a bunch of Disney-master prequel rips with humongous Japanese hardsubs.
It's sub. And the subs go well up into the picture. (Also, it's a post-Disney master)
At any rate, I believe TPM started 20 minutes ago. I suspect it'll be the BD master, and of course it'll be a Japanese dub.
The bitrate is probably just slightly lower, plus WOWOW broadcasts in mpeg-2, not h.264.
The blue escape pod thing was another one of those supposed "bloopers" that was "fixed", like Han's "vest" in ESB.
Any word on Episode I? Is it the Blu ray version? That's the one I'd be most interested in.
I had shoutbox closed... but I still confirm quality, just a bit lower than AVC HDTV, but there seems to be more details here and there... due to BD master, I suppose.
Has someone the SW BD saga actually on HDD? If so, please drop me a PM, I need some screenshots, thanks in advance!
WOWOW EP4: confirmed, it's the BD version - rocks, new Jabba etc. - quality is quite high!
Somehow I think I forgot something this weekend.. I checked Devil's Advocate BD for extra scenes with normal audio... someone remember if I promised something other to chekc this weekend at home?
Too bad. WOWOW has great quality for TV broadcasts from what I've seen. Would be fun if they aired 1997 version or something
There's also this: https://i.imgur.com/pHM4PLj.jpg Apparently in all pre-2011 versions the escape pod lid was blue, and they decolored it for BD master
if WOWOW had aired the 2004 versions, they could have been useful for a deconstruction
well, at the worst, it might be useful for the audio, which appears to be a hybrid of a 2002 TV dub and 2004/2011 M&E
Wikipedia says it's a 2011 change: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ch...e-releases
my 2004 DVDs are buried under wires, papers, other DVDs and a bunch of other junk
That's a bummer. But don't delete it yet, maybe someone who knows more about SE changes could find something useful in there
I'm looking in the wrong place, aren't I? This isn't when he runs into the Jawas, it's when he's looking for Obi-wan?
Probably the fastest way to check if it's the BD master is to see if there are rocks in front of R2 in the canion scene
The rollup is in Japanese. They have a station bug, but it's in the letterbox area. Greedo and Jabba subs are also in the letterbox.
Nod. I've got plenty of space to hold them on a friend's server until we can figure out what to do with them. I'm hoping these are 2004 masters; if they are, they could be the best possible video source for the 2004 version
OT's failing me. Good news though: I have successfully capped ANH from WOWOW, as I said I would
Someone was registered on http://www.onlinetvrecorder.com since a long time? I have downloaded EP1 theatrical recorded with it but, to be decoded, it needs a registration made before broadcasting date...
I would LOVE to see these WOWOW broadcasts get capped. It would really be a treat.
WOWOW used to be famous for it's high bitrate broadcasts, so if that didn't change it would probably look better than whatever else we have now
We don't know until they're capped. There's a slight chance that they might be the 2004 SEs and provide another source for the shots that were changed for the BD.
