Yep, all of The Walking Dead is shot on 16mm to get the look they want. It has resulted in Georgia still having a great film lab.
Today I watche Spaceball on LD... it's incredible how nice a 30yrs old open matte laserdisc could be...
It's good that 70mm is having something of a renaissance as well thanks to Nolan, Tarantino etc. How long for who knows
Poor old Kodak, they want to ditch film so badly but the public won't have any of it...(sound of smallest violin in the world)
For extra points throw in some scenes from a wedding that randomly keep popping up during the movie. For that extra garage sale after divorce authenticity.
Good news for fans of 35mm film: http://www.kodak.com/us/en/corp/press_ce...efault.htm
So... It is like a preservation of the old experience: watch a movie so worn out, that you might miss some scenes, due to quality issues... I am in...
Going to start FanInv (Fan Involution), where you must degrade as much as possible an HD (or, better, UHD) source, to make it look worse than an old, worn VHS tape. Who's with me?
Whiskey might do the trick too. Although nobody else will see the effect, so... so why not Zoidberg?
Like record Die Hard over and over on it and then whatever you actually needed?
Or take it to a sauna with you. Or if you want some heavy damage take a hammer to it and transplant it to an unwrecked case. Or pull the tape out and make sweet sweet lov............. I'm getting carried away.
Seems, as if I need to get a second VHS recorder, to copy to VHS and then dupe it more times, to get it worn out...
@MrBrown I guess if I needed to, I would use the VCR I have to record it on an actual VHS and then capture it, I suppose. But then again perhaps not.
@MrBrown does your blu ray player have a composite out? You could do some old school futzing
Is there any script to give a BD or DVD a "20 times copied, worn out"-VHS look?
Would like to have a "retro" Version for some movies...

I must confess I do not watch many LDs lately, but, for example, I watched The Lion King with my daughter few days ago, and I recall I have never watched it before! Nice edition, good colors, I liked it!
I never watched the EP1 LD... I think the only LD I ever watched in its entirety was the German City of the living Dead LD... Why do I collect LDs anyway? Oh, yes... Interesting Releases...
EP1 LD rip and upscale? Yep! Robocop Criterion? Still not...
probably a DVD would be better suited for the upscale!
probably a DVD would be better suited for the upscale!Damn mobile phone ... Just autocowrecked "upscaling" to "Upscaling-Robocop-Criterion"
Okay... The LD looks great. Was the ripping and Upscaling-Robocop-Criterion done by you?
If someone thinks laserdisc should not be used for projects, due to its inherent low video quality... http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/195979
35mm print of Highlander 2 (but with Russian audio) on eBay http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vie...ID=EBAY-GB
Crazy late, but yes, HNY everyone!! Let's *make* it an even better one than the last. Wishing you all the best. ^-^
I'm a bit stunned I've been on here for about a year already. Always pleasuring to be part of this community!
I'm proud to have started it, and happy to see so many good persons share their ideas and experiences here!
Two years are passed.. it seems yesterday it all started, and here we are, almost 500 members, 9000+ posts, and a lot of knowledge shared... it's a good result, after all, don't you think?
One of mine I already have fulfilled: I ordered a parrot Bebop 2 today...
Other resolutions including a new PC, maybe in Summer, and maybe some LaserDiscs...

Hmm, many old people stay alive for xreason when they should have died long ago
After the daughter, now the mother... this fudging year is going too far seriously. 2016, please stop right now!
She had just finished up her scenes for the next film too. Bless her for leaving us such a gift. We will not forget.
It was official. It just wasn't the main the series. The producers had the rights thus = official film. A Not Official film would be if they made it without owning the rights.
In the old Casino Royale (well.. not an official Bond, but.. somehow it is still a Bond.. or so ^^), there where.. more Bonds..
I just watched "The world is not enough" and saw that Moneypenny was played by "Samantha Bond" in the four Brosnan Bonds.. fitting name for an Actress in a Bond Movie..

OK it was just mentioned on T1; but including young "versions", they should be 6 or 7... a bit less than James Bond (for the moment) and Doctor Who (it had a reason at least!)
If in T1 was a flashbackforward.. Then there where 6 John Connor in 5 movies... T2 has two John's.
IIRC in T1 is in a flashback (or flashforward?!?) or in a deleted scene... can't remember, too many terminators - even if I fondly remember just the terminatrix...
And don't forget the.. Sarah Connor Chronicles Series.. that is another John Connor...
Is it just me that think it's kinda strange to have five different John Connor in five movies?!?

Auguro un Buon Anno Nuovo a tutti!
