Reading on some projectonists and 35mm aficionados forum, NOBODY was happy with its reliability!
Sad, because apart the track wear, SDDS-8 was a great sound system, technically.
Leon Atmos: the normal path to follow would be to use the multichannel (not 6-track, but the one used to derive it, that could be for example 16-track, 24-track) to build an Atmos mix; if they have not it, the 6-track master could be used (with less precision of course); releasing the Atmos downmix is a nonsense, as any Dolby TrueHD (Digital Plus) encoded with Atmos are automatically downmixed when a non-Atmos receiver is used.
But from studios, we can expect anything, so...
