I've seen torrents of the UK, French, Brazilian and even Shout Factory's non-Steelbook and they all contain a lossless stereo track SF's in DTS-HD MA instead of LPCM.
That said, the Steelbook is still being seeded on HDBits for those with accounts there.

TAF,
Does your disc work in a blu ray player? Just want to rule out a physical issue with the disc itself.
Something like imgburn can rip an entire disc image, which can then be decoded by makemkv. If there are any bad sectors (or the TOC is shot) the rip should report them.

@ zoidberg unfortunately, it might be a physical issue with the disc itself (I left it out of its case for a bit and didn't realize, which is quite a stupid thing to do).
Still plays fine on my TV but doesn't rip on MakeMKV. Every BD drive I've tried just craps out. I'm on a Mac not PC, so no IMGburn.
@Doctor M if someone wants to grab the 4.1 track from there, it'd be much appreciated. Otherwise, I might have to get another copy.
@ PDB sorry, don't have any of these.

Blu rays have a self-healing scratchproof coating on the read face, if the disc is left on an uneven surface it can deform in spots which will cause playback errors. If the data layer isn't damaged (ie the side with the art printed onto it), it may be worth leaving it for a while in it's case to see if the surface heals enough to allow it to be ripped.

Sounds magic. I've never heard this before.
Cool.
@The Aluminum Falcon - I had considered grabbing it in the past, but since the box is two dual layer discs I've been toying with the idea of buying it. That and I want to see physical media stick around longer.
Although more and more I've been shying away from buying (or d/l'ding) BDs since a lot of deep library films have been coming to UHD BDs,

Posted in another thread. I'm buying another copy of the steelbook, hope that works and/or the old disc repairs itself as @ zoidberg says

The Digital Bits review of the new 4k UHD disc's audio tracks:
Quote:Audio is offered in a new English Dolby Atmos mix, the original 70 mm 6-track mag mix encoded as 4.1 DTS-HD Master Audio (technically it’s 5.1, but with mono surrounds, so 4.1 is a more accurate way of describing it), and the original four-channel Dolby Stereo mix matrix encoded as 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio. (Optional English SDH subtitles are also provided.) The Atmos mix doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel, but it does add channel separation that wasn’t present before, and it also positions sounds more precisely in space. The overhead channels don’t get much of a workout, aside from occasional moments like when an elevated train crosses the ceiling, but the sounds of the other passing vehicles now pan into the left or right surround channels, as appropriate. The music definitely benefits from the object-based mix, with noticeable improvements in separation and positioning. For example, when Michael Paré’s name appears during the opening credits and the percussion takes over for a moment, the individual drums are better defined, with greater spread. Surprisingly enough, the remix is sometimes more restrained than the older mixes, with a few sound effects dialed down a bit, like when Cody and Reva are talking outside of her apartment near the beginning of the film. The ambient surround effects for that scene are more prominent on the 4.1 and 2.0 mixes, while they’re subtler in Atmos. It’s one case where greater refinement might not be to all tastes, but the good news is that all possible options are included, so the choice is yours. (Please note that the Atmos version is mastered at a lower level than the other two, so adjust the volume level accordingly when trying to compare them.)
