U.S election

Honestly I'm against deleting anything that doesn't break current rules. Locking the thread would be enough it IcePrick agrees on that.

I'm also for locking over deleting

I would prefer locking over deleting.
Too bad, that it is not easy to discuss things like politics or religion, without someone feeling provoked/attacked, or someone provoking/attacking...

Even if it started kind of neutral...

But this goes for any kind of opinion and belief based topic. As soon as someones emotions are triggered, the topic starts burning. Politics and religions are just the topping on that cake.

Other topics that tend to start such a fight are:
- sexuality (especially in cooperation with religion)
- gender-discussions (even without the sexuality part)
- crimes/criminality
- Weapon laws
- Justin Bieber
"Never cut a deal with a dragon..."
- Old Shadowrun wisdom

Yep this really doesn't belong here at fanres, time to remove or lock this thread IMO.
Really the point of fanres is to get away from everyday problems and discuss things we all have a passion for, FILM. Ok

Although I don't want to discourage free speech, I have to agree with the rest of the staff on this one:

This is a place to discuss film and anything pertaining to this hobby. Not a political forum, as there are plenty of those on the internet.

That being said, I understand that people wish to voice their opinions and such and that the topics of religion/politics/sex/etc. might get mentioned here and there by people (I've done it myself) but I ask that people keep comments on those topics to a minimum. Also, there will be NO hate tolerated here! If you have an opinion that you feel you need to voice, please do so in a civilized manner!

My two cents on the US election... All I will say is that I am neither a republican nor democrat and the American people got screwed regardless of who won this election... Bernie was the closest to a viable candidate we had, but that didn't lastSad

I am truly worried about the future of this country because of how divided it is right now, but hope that we are strong enough to persevere and come out stronger in the end... (but maybe I'm just a dreamer...)

Now, back to film stuff.... How about that delicious 35mm film grain? Tongue
