Well, a computer display/TV can only display RGB, YUV is only a transport format. Same goes for screenshots, png files are RGB-based, so if you make a VirtualDub-screenshot from a YUV source, VDub will have to convert it to RGB anyway, and it may do so using a wrong matrix or otherwise mess it up. At least that happened to me.

That's why you convert to RGB in AviSynth, not VirtualDub.
