posting in the same moment another is posting...

OK, I should admit it doesn't happen frequently, but, as members are growing, and related threads/posts too, it would be more frequent in the future.

So, I wonder if there is a plugin that "prevents" you to post your comment, and that tells you something like "hey, while you were writing, another one has posted a comment... why don't you read it and eventually edit your post?"

It is what rutracker forum does - and probably others, but I noted it only there.

This often happens to me because I frequently spend a long time writing replies. A plugin sounds like a good idea.

You can just edit or delete your post after comment if that happens. Why you need the forum software to do everything for you - next you want it to type out what you're thinking proof read and send so you can spend your time doing something else!

The point is, what if you post and you don't note the previous post is not the one you were responding to, but another one (or more than one), posted meanwhile? In that case, you'll not edit it, right?

The plugin would just remind me that, don't think is a "do it all for me" job, just a little help.

If it was the case, I would not surely use avisynth (a scripting language with steep learning curve) as sole video editing software, don't you think? Wink

This requires some deep thought and nourishment. Let's go down to the bakery for some cookies.

[enters bakery ... grabs a numbered ticket ... browses the display cases while waiting for his turn]

Hey! I just had this great idea!! ...

I've seen that prompt on other forums. I usually ignore it and just proceed with posting. Afterwards I read the new post and edit accordingly if necessary.

You can pop-up an alert to tell people a new reply has been posted. I'm not sure if there's a MyBB plugin for that or not, but I have seen that elsewhere.

That's a problem that has happened to me before. A person even got very angry at me since I missed their post (no loss there, the person was a jerk).

I'm like Chewtobacco I take a long time to reply and then fix my terrible typing so I'd probably ignore a warning just like Brutto. so a feature would be nice but not a high priority.
