Virtualdub FFMpeg.dll Error
#1
This is a a strange one for me. I was running an avisynth script (scaling, etc) through Vdub 32-bit into a Lag-AVI. Done this many, many times without error. Now all the suddenly I'm getting this:

basically the video goes a few frames and returns with FFMpeg.dll error reading frame=ERROR UNKNOWN, which as you can see is terriblely insightful. I thought maybe it was something I did in the script so I striped everything except open the video file and then convert to LAG-AVI in Vdub: same results. I also checked the full script in AVSPMod and it was fine.

I upgraded Vdub to the latest: same results.
Downgraded it to the latest version (1.3): same results.
Loaded a new version of FFdshow: same results.
Load AVIsynth again: same results.

I had no major updates that I'm aware of outside of the latest copy of Premiere. A google search shows nothing useful. So I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

Does it only do this with one particular source? Could be the source or the index file

Thanks for responding Zoidberg. I tried multiple sources (all LAG-AVIs) from different drives, so it's not that.

Have you tried with different source plugin?

Is it caused by DGIndex? Probably not, but you need to use the same .dll version for DGIndex as the version you used to create the .d2v file otherwise it cases issues.

No the input file is HD so was using a simple avisource in avisynth.

Vdub and vdub 64 don't work but it seems vdub mod does so I was able to use that at least. I appreciate the help guys.

Try using the newest VirtualDub fork - VirtualDub FilterMod - it has some new nice features as well - https://sourceforge.net/projects/vdfiltermod/

If not, maybe check out avs2avi - https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=71493

Ah good tools to try, Thanks Colek. I'll give them a whirl.

Of course Wink

Turns out a file had gotten corrupted and somehow I was able to fix it.
