Koopa Luath, are you keeping the colors of the Italian restoration as-is? I honestly have no idea how Fistful/For a Few Dollars More looked theatrically.

But, Technicolor samples of GBU and Once Upon a Time in the West seem to be a bit more stylized in terms of contrast and saturation than the Italian restoration's video would suggest.

Gotcha, understand since it's a genuinely aesthetically pleasant way to watch the film. But, how exactly do you know the restoration is "the way Sergio Leone meant it to be seen"?

Genuinely don't know about the transfer's pedigree and wonder if anyone from the production signed off on it. Or, better yet, do you know if the restoration team consulted original dye-transfer prints?

I remember the Italian restorationists defended their work as more accurate on Facebook when the new one was released with different color timing. But, I'm just healthily skeptical about their sources for color.
