My hybrid open matte releases

OM Tintin looks great! There seems to be no variation in color or in quality. Why is the open matte format a thing in animation? What is the purpose in asking animators creating more than what is required for a theatrical release? Is it only for the home video market?

Not to push the subject further. But, has anyone found the non-localized versions of Infinity War or Blade Runner 2049? Also, what program was used to meld the open matte version with the Blu-ray? Thanks.

Any chance someone could PM me a magnet link/torrent file/direct download link of Blade Runner 2049 open matte but the english version, the one easily available online that I can find has only russian subtitles and titles, and the version I can find on rutracker has next to no seeders and is only 4gb, compared to the 28gb source file

The Spleen has a new Blade Runner 2049 version that is claimed to be the IMAX version coming from an obscure and undisclosed source, the assumption being it was leaked by Deakins... A future 4K version has been basically announced in the comment section, too.

Open matte has the same picture as imax, no difference. Any comparison screenshots?

People say it's just the russian open matte with some creative edits baked in to remove the localised titles, and add IMAX logos.
