I was just about to send you my script and a pair of example frames so you could replicate it but seems you fixed it before I managed to! 
Just tested on my end and it worked like a charm

Edit: I was wondering, would it be possible to implement, or is there a way for the gradient value to work also with mode 5?
Mode 4:
