Another update: I did a test with the nVidia Shield and my Oppo 203
The ShieldTV transcode the coreless DTS-HD to PCM
The Oppo hangs up after one second.

So in my book, it's not worth the hassle. Either keep the original DTS-HD or transcode to FLAC.
