Yeah... The storage should be cool, but not freezing.. Like a cellar... Then they can be stored for weeks and months...

And they (potatoes) are not that expensive... At least Aldi south had them for 2 Euro per 1,5kg at some point...
Germany is a big producer of potatoes... Might be a bit more expensive with the dry summers lately..

Oh for sure! I buy potatoes all the time usually, no better side in existence imo. Many years ago I stocked up on canned (well, technically "glassed") potatoes once, which last quite long, but later I realized that they are very overpriced and taste like absolute shit compared to actual freshly cooked potatoes, not even a contest.

Yeah. When I was a kid my mother bought more than 20 kg of potatoes in autumn, that was stored for winter... Directly from a farmer who came around I car and sold fresh stuff... Personally I don't like potatoes that much... I am more a spaghetti or noodles person...

Back from the supermarket after trying to find some.self raising flour for my dumplings and noticed that they were totally out of bottled water.
Last I checked we still had running water and haven't a clue to why my utility services would be disrupted?

People are buying them by the lot. They can strip of 24 packs of bottled water within minutes.
Also flour is gone, I had to buy a higher priced flour today to bake because they bought all the lower priced by the dozen. All they do is disrupting the food chain for the others due to their own selfishness. I hope these people die of the virus, they deserve it. |
