HAHAH. Yeah, it looks like crap. But... yeah, I've gotta say it kinda works for me. But I do think matching it is probably not an excellent idea, unless it's possibly only used as a partial reference rather than an actual colour matching guide.

I just wish it wasn't cropped in as well as otherwise looking like crap.

Personally I like the look, and I think the fact that it's the director's personal–and personally approved–35mm print should be taken into heavy consideration. I suppose at the end of the day though, it comes back down to accuracy versus personal preference I suppose in terms of how to handle the colors.

I just posted a big ol' bunch of words (that I should probably look at again later and edit better) over in my thread about Basket Case that lays out my theory about why it might be that the Koch version of Dog Soldiers has some misalignment at hard cuts but (at least according to my memory) the Scream Factory scan doesn't. I could double post it here but it seems redundant; I may edit this post to include an edited down version that more specifically focuses on Dog Soldiers rather than Basket Case, but it's basically all related.

Very keen to hear if I'm completely wrong on this or if I might be heading vaguely in the right direction, even if I'm not 100% correct. I have no real experience working with physical film stock, as much as I wish that weren't the case, so maybe somebody who does might be in a better position to clear this up.

Seen it more than once in 35mm it never looked like contrast town

We hoped to have more news this month, however we're still discussing various details re materials. We should be in a position to update early Jan. We want to do this classic the justice it deserves and are aiming for the best quality release possible.[Image: Ep2I4ClW8AEVH1R?format=png&name=4096x4096]
