No need. Metropolis runs at 24fps, at least on Kino's; I expect Eureka's to be the same. The only thing encoding to 60fps would do is add 3:2 pulldown, which TVs can do automatically, if you want that.

How about Peter Pan (1924)? Kino's Blu-ray of it runs at 24fps, and AFAIK has only one or two damaged frames. Does that movie need a 60fps version?

I only spot-checked Peter Pan. At 24fps, I have no plans to do it.

When I say I delete frames, I'm not deleting damaged frames, I'm deleting frames with ugly and distracting repairs. Even then, sloppy retouching is so pervasive that I can only delete the worst offenders. I actually could go in and do nice retouching to repair repairs, but that turns even the shortest movies into major projects!

I haven't really looked into VFR. What I like about 60fps is that every device and every piece of software can play it. I use Premiere, and it can't even import VFR and maintain sync. I'd be interested in it if most TVs and projectors were like G-SYNC.

VRR is starting to become common in TVs. Maybe VFR would be too much of a pain, but you could play around with odd frame rates.

Deleted interpolated frames and frames with ugly interpolated temporal cloning. Replaced a few repaired shots that look significantly better unrestored in the older disc.

The 2017 is a different version than the 2010. It's a mix of different shots and angles, along with many shots from the same source as the 2010. I don't know which is the primary variant.

I wonder with HDMI 2.1's VRR feature, could we view silent movies at the correct frame rates now? Like, could a 18fps file play at 36p or 54p? A TV that doesn't support 18p or VRR would just play the video back at 30p or 60p, no?

Synced the 2010 video to the 2017 score by Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra. I much prefer the unrestored 2010 video instead of the over-processed 2017 that has tons of frozen lesions and interpolation. The new score, though, is wonderful.
