Matrix Resurrections
#31
I'm not even going to bother comparing it to 2 & 3 because those films are dead to me anyway (the third in particular), but it's a cinematic dud IMO.

M4 is garbage and has some really bad CGI (check the scene when Neo fights Morpheus at the lake. When you can through a window, the backgrounds movements doesn't match at all). Also the use of digital cameras was very hard to unsee. It was odd during the movie, but at the end when Neo and Trinity escape from the zombies on bike, some shots looked really cheap due to the digital look.

You can also clearly see that Keanu and Carrie-Anne just took a paycheck, probably a big one. They felt so boring. The story itself is like a big FU. M2 & M³ had more enjoyment and they are already bad.

For me: not going to buy it -> rewatch it ever again.

PS: The Wachowski should stop making movies. They lost the mojo after The Matrix. Their movies are eye candy, sure, but beyond that SNOOOOOOOZZZEEEEEEE

They never had the mojo to begin with. The real man behind the achievement of The Matrix 1 was Joel Silver.

You can see he took a step back on the sequels, and the result was nothing like the usual Silver films.

"Bound" was a pretty good crime film. Was Silver involved?

Bound is a Sin City Comics rip-off, so some talent was definetely involved lol.

A spoilery question since I don't intend to watch this if I can help it:
After watching M2 in the theater the first time, what the Architect said SOUNDED a lot like Zion was not the real world, but a secondary layer of the Matrix for people that think they figured things out.
When Neo started having superpowers in the 'Real World' I was convinced that's how M3 would end; with Neo freeing everyone from the dirty/gritty Zion world into the REAL real world that was possibly green with vegetation.
That would have been a much cooler wrap up and I had always hoped to insinuate that when I did my fan edits.

Do they go there with M4 or is there any content that could possibly be used to create a fan edit that looks that way?
I've been pondering an HD upgrade of the Hacks. Maybe a single film from 2, 3 & 4 but I want MY ending, not the Ws'.

No, there is no 2nd-level Matrix in any of the films. Neo having powers in the real world was just poor writing.

Actually there is - if we exclude our own reality not being a matrix, too... Wink

There is:
  • the real world
  • the matrix
  • the matrix game/simulation inside the matrix
