[Help] Enter The Matrix Cutscenes - 4K
#1
I had some time, I had some computer bandwidth, and I have a copy of Topaz Video Enhance. So I put the Enter the Matrix cutscenes through an upscale, using the Proteus Fine Tune with a "decompress" setting of about 11.

I'd love feedback, knowledge, tips, notes...really anything! I'm sharing just to give back to y'all fine folks.

thanks for this!
The quality, to me, looks like somewhere between a DVD and 1080, but its quite good. No real banding, not many artifacts, if any.
I would give it a tad bit of uptick in color so it more closely matches the 4k UHDs. You could even make a color match LUT from those.
What do you think about editing the cut scenes a bit (removing the in-between titles) and splicing it back into Reloaded? (someone already did that but the quality's atrocious)
also.. I use Topaz myself: what do you mean "decompress at 11". Do you mean "Revert Compression"? What about the other 5 settings? Smile
Cool job so far!

Yup! I meant "revert compression." I left everything else alone. I feel like anything else might over-enhance the footage, though I may need to take another pass for especially dark scenes.

When not victim to the YouTube compression, the quality looks drastically better. Though I would not know a hosting service off the top of my head that could host a file this large.

And I haven't the foggiest idea on where to start with LUTs. I'd be more than happy to share if you'd like to tweak.

The reason I made the 4k version was for that exact reason of splicing back into Reloaded!

My plan is to combine with Final Flight of the Osiris and Revolutions, creating the longest version of the movie possible. 'Cause why not?

As far as I know, yes.

I'm surprised at how well this scales up, too.
