Charade 1963 Technical Specs(?)
#1
Obviously people are paying more attention to "Charade" at the moment with it being added to the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

Today I found something quite baffling; a Taiwan Blu-ray:

Yeah.  3D.  Huh?!!

Wikipedia mentions nothing of this, native 3D or computer conversion.  Imdb says:

Code:
Runtime 1 hr 53 min (113 min)
Sound Mix Mono (Westrex Recording System)
Color Color
Aspect Ratio 1.85 : 1
Laboratory Technicolor, Hollywood (CA), USA (color)
Film Length 3,094 m (Italy)
Negative Format 35 mm (Eastman 50T 5251)
Cinematographic Process Spherical
Printed Film Format 35 mm

Anyone know anything about this?

The film got somehow public domain status in some areas so it has led to all kinds of weird releases.

I knew that, but according to Wikipedia, it's because Universal didn't say 'copyright' or have the symbol. It also says "The film remains fully protected by copyright outside the U.S.". Theoretically, that means the Taiwan release is supposed to be official and licensed.

Double checking the ebay listing Yarp linked, there is no copyright info on the cover art in English and it does not mention Universal.

What I missed before is that it says "Produced By The Advanced Amazing AK 3D Technology"... not that I can find details of that online, but it does answer the question.

Using Google Translate, the cover also says "The World's Only 2D/3D Edition".

Bing and bing. Mystery solved... I'd still like to see that.
