Great write up as well, I have to confess I never knew this version was the TV debut of part 2 - I assume it was felt the theatrical version would have been to complex for regular viewers? I guess this is the first example of the tinkering that Coppola had become so fond of?

Congrats alleycat ! Your project seem now the definitive version of "A Novel For Television". Did you used as a reference the 1980 rerun of NBC ?

I think so yes, I'm not aware of anything he did prior to this that had an alternate version.

Thanks. The VHS recording I have is an AMC broadcast I just don't know the date.
