[Help] Looking for the US DVD of F.I.S.T. (1978) with English Closed Captions
#1
Hey movie fans,

I’m looking for the American DVD release of F.I.S.T. (1978) starring Sly Stallone. This US DVD contains English Closed Captions (SDH), which can be accessed using a suitable decoder.

All European DVD releases are based on the shorter European version. The US version, however, is approximately 15 minutes longer.

In addition to the Closed Captions, the US DVD also contains standard English subtitles, which can be selected directly from the DVD menu. I want cc only but not standard subs from DVD menu.

Does anyone here own the US DVD? If so, I would really appreciate it if someone could provide me with an ISO file or the complete DVD structure.

Would anyone be able to share it with me?

Thanks in advance!

There is no subtitles on Kino BD. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/FIST-Blu-...22/#Review

If so, then the MGM RC1 DVD is the only release that contains Closed Captions (CC), including English subtitles for the hearing impaired (SDH).

Oh, I've seen some subtitles around for this one, probably someone already did it and synced the DVD subs. If not good, let me know and I'll dig the old NTSC disc up.

Aha… I only need the untouched retail subtitle file, because otherwise some subtitle formatting codes can be lost during processing. For example, when extracting them with Subtitle Edit, a lot of formatting is lost, as I’ve noticed. There are some subtitles where the text on the first line is italicized, while the text on the second line is displayed normally, or vice versa. However, Subtitle Edit makes both lines italic, which is obviously not correct. That’s why I always want the subtitles to remain exactly 1:1 as they are in the original.

So I extract the subtitles using other software that can extract them cleanly, preserving them exactly as they appear in the original without altering any formatting or encoding information.

I’d be very grateful if you could dig out the NTSC DVD and share it with me.
