Felidae LD with English Dub.
#1
The Singapore LD has English audio and is NTSC.

What are the chances of someone finding this to make a hybrid remux with the UHD? The UHD doesn't have the English dub on it.

I've been meaning to sync the DVD audio with the new UHD, just haven't gotten around to it yet. But the LD would be better if someone could get it.

I believe the PAL DVD is missing frames. Here is what I found on comparing the German audio on the PAL DVD to the Bluray.

BD audio seems a lossy transcode and compared to this, DVD audio has higher frequencies, sounds better, and gives overall a better hearing experience. However, the DVD skipped some scenes and frames (00:15:48.750-00:15:52.750, 00:31:23.250-00:31:24.500, 01:01:37.125-01:01:43.375).

Singapore LD is supposedly a PAL standards conversion (despite the 88 min RT) and actually runs 77 mins. That means its been trimmed of certain content like the Thailand VHS/VCD and is probably based on an edited master the Spanish and French releases had.

Just saw listings for an Aussie VHS. I would imagine thats the source the TH/SG releases use if it's the same edited down version.

From the BD forums:
Quote:I made the Blu-Ray match the DVD frame for frame exactly video wise, then made the necessary edits to the Blu-Ray audio and subtitle tracks so they matched the DVD version. I will provide all of the DVD tracks, and all of the Blu-Ray tracks.

The DVD audio is exactly the same as on the DVD. The edits to sync the Blu-Ray audio included these.

There were about 4 seconds more of lightning in a storm scene that had to be removed from the Blu-Ray video/audio, but it literally takes nothing from the story or ruins it. It was nothing but watching a bit more of rain and lightning in the sky before cutting to the next scene, so nothing important to the story was lost.

Another 2 alterations was just one had a half second more of silence/black frames between scene changes. This is isn't even noticeable as it was just difference in length of silence between scene changes, so these 2 edits don't change anything at all but the length of the silence.

The final alteration, the Blu-Ray had about 2 more seconds of the cats walking along a fence than the DVD did, so approximately 2 seconds was removed to match the DVD. The English dub is 100% as it was on the DVD and is unaltered. This specific edit is not noticeable unless watching the German dub, and you can speak or understand German. It clips off about 2 words from German dub, but unless you speak German, it sounds exactly like it did on the German DVD. You don't hear any abrupt cut, you just hear 2 less spoken German words than you do in the German Blu-Ray dub.

All in all it was only a few seconds difference between the two, and only that last one had any negative effect on one of the dubs. You need to be watching the German version, and understand German to notice it. So overall it sounds perfect if your watching with subs and don't understand German at all, but a native German speaker will notice it most likely.

If you were fine with how the DVD sounded and played, then you will be fine with this as it sounds exactly the same, but it's Blu-Ray audio included as well. I'm not sure why the Blu-Ray has 2.0 German and DVD has 5.1 German, but both are the same edits wise.

Sounds like with some editing you could take the dub from the DVD and make it match the UHD without editing the video. Maybe I'll attempt it some day, but for now this guys edit can be found on public trackers if anyone is interested.
