Laserdisc look like 12 inch CD's.

It was not in a sleeve shining in the late afternoon sun. Kind of hard to miss. Had a white label like Image titles did, but not certain. Passed that spot yesterday and it was gone of course.
@SilverWook was it without the packaging? Or how did you tell it apart from a vinyl record? i don't know anything about laserdiscs, just curious. I thought they were roughly the same size as records
There's currently a sale on “Master Restoration Suite” by Wave Arts. Does anybody know if it's any good? https://vstbuzz.com/deals/70-off-master-...wave-arts/
I saw a Laserdisc lying on the side of the road today. Were it not in a bad traffic spot I would have tried to get it.
Just one night... Seems as we drive Friday to the concert... Sleep one night in Warsaw, and drive back to Berlin on Saturday... And on Sunday I'll drive back from Berlin to my personal destonation
Back to the Future was released on this day 34 years ago! Happy Birthday! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saCXL-Xfbwk
Friend in LA got busted trying to record it, but you can see it wasn't faded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_conti...qf4zALS4tM
There was at least one 70mm print of the SE, screened in Norway in '97 at least according to the interwebs: https://www.in70mm.com/library/engagemen.../index.htm
According to people on forums.thestarwarstrilogy.com who attended the screening, the print was from the early '80s, with virtually no fade. There was a tear in the print around when the death star explodes, which happened the first and only other time it had been screened.
According to the official Academy YT channel, even Marcia Lucas will attend as a guest. Wow!
I believe they made some 15/70 prints though, because I remember seeing a featurette about how they remade the intro scene with the Destroyer with impressive explosions in full frame for IMAX.
But no, there were not as far as I know any 70mm prints made, though there were some '70mm cels' that were produced through a different process.
The really big question is were there 70m prints for the SE? Paging Dr. Poita!
Yeah, a friend an I got out tickets in the insane time, when the server were just overheated, but we got lucky. We had seats (was good, my friend had an operation about a week before the concert)
Nice, enjoy yourself! Did you manage to get tickets within the few hours before it was sold out?
maybe anyone in europe (Germany) interested in a XBox HD-DVD drive? It is possible that I might can buy one for about 20 euro... but I already have two...
I know I haven't been on in a bit, but if anyone's interested I'm doing another livestream tonight on my youtube channel at 8:30 Central. https://www.youtube.com/user/duckyousuckr
Hi guys, I've just gotten home from a week in the hospital. Going through now and catching up on PMs and threads.
Reminding everyone of the crowdfunded 3-D restoration of 1953 Mexican film "El corazón y la espada": https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/3-d...spada1953/ it's about 86% funded now! There's also a test scan https://youtu.be/oLHC1Z57p-Y and it looks great! I just watched it with red-cyan glasses.
one day there will be only CGI movies, or movies with unknown (and cheap) actors with their faces replaces with the ones of dead, famous actors... meanwhile, it's funny to get a mix of the faces of Sylvester Stallone, The Rock and Matt LeBlanc on top of Arnold body!
the most eerie part is how it can't really work out what's in the shadow (or the edge of the face shot over the shoulder) and keeps shifting back to arnold
How about another alternative where Terminator 2 starred Sylvester Stallone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQvCmQFScMA
Can't we have a timetravel movie with the plot, that everything Terminator Movie after Terminator 2 has to be prevented to protect the world from a dark fate?
Terminator Dark Fate plot leaks from a test screening: https://heroichollywood.com/terminator-d...s-changes/ (the film sounds terrible and plot is recycled).
managed to pick up The Dark Crystal UHD in a 2 for £20 UHD offer. saw the trailer for the new one and went to fish the BD of the original out to discovered that i must of sold it a while back haha

I had some hopes this can be a normal film because; Cameron is back (new trilogy+Hamilton+Schwarzenegger). But unfortunaltley the transcript is garbage. All these big names are more for a market trick. Probably it will be first and the last from new trilogy, same as Genisys. Too bad, they blow up it again. And at the end, it's not Cameron's work, it's Miller's work and from 8 stupid writers... From T2 I didn't see any normal film.
Also on Lethal Weapon, I thought the series was good (I've only seen season 1), really all the sequels were a betrayal of the first film's central theme of Riggs coming back from the verge of suicide, converting the series into a comedy (as this article https://outline.com/ktdHMB calls it the sequels are their own comedy trilogy that didn't fit the theme or genre of the original). The sequels really are completely different off in a world of their own and almost a full parody of the original like what Scary Movie is to Scream or what Ghostbusters 2016 is to the original. Lethal Weapon 2 is my favourite of the sequels if only for retaining some of the original film's essence, not saying that the other two are bad at all but really none of them fit the original.
@marin888 you're surprised? Cameron endorsed Genisys. https://outline.com/nGy9vP https://youtu.be/7LqgdNVTcRA Then later after everyone hated it he said he didn't like it either. https://outline.com/hsbAeN I wouldn't believe a thing he says about Terminator Dark Fate, movie will be terrible should be direct-to-video like Escape Plan 3.
Hum what I think he died after doing Avatar, which is a 1995 movie made in 2009.
I think it looks OK for an early look. Also T2 Cameron is not modern Cameron, he died after he made True Lies
What bonehead signed off on that music? It's a sleeping pill. Using the original theme music should have been a no-brainer...
He has been saying that on every film since T3 tho. "This time it's the true sequel to T2" he says.
This looks exactly like Genisys... hard to believe that Cameron himself said that Dark Fate is the official third movie in the franchise.
Terminator: Dark Fate Trailer 23. 6:00 AM PST https://twitter.com/Schwarzenegger/statu...2514873344 Brad Fiedel NOT Scoring
It would probably be like Lethal Weapon. Younger cast than the one in the film, watered down to make it appropriate for kids, and without everything that made the original great
Wow... ever seen a UHD BD being worse than a BD? https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=1&d1=13...=527&y=251
I think it would be fun, if they would have done it years before, with the original cast. On the other hand, I really would like to see a kind of a "prequel" show, like his missions, and keeping the family unclued...
On one hand, it wouldn't make for a bad show, on the other, I feel like what made the movie even work was Cameron as a director and the leading cast. So to be blunt, I feel like the show will feel very hollow and wouldn't last very long if it does reach the airing of the pilot.
I sprained my eyes rollin' https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news...ng-disney/
We don't have the bandwidth or diskspace for that. I would have to frequently wipe the image database just as other sites
Is there anywhere to look up what film was shot / released on what film stock?
I didn't think about May the Fourh as SW day (blast me!) but even if consciently unaware, I celebrated anyway, so I could be forgiven (I hope!)
Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew dies aged 74: https://twitter.com/TheWookieeRoars/stat...6240967681
OK. Strange question. Is there somewhere a list of OM versions but with more footage only on top and bottom (comparing to BD versions)?
Congrats! Phone company guy told me it would take an act of Congress to get the copper lines replaced in my area.
I'm getting fiber at home, after 5 years of being literally in every single street around me but mine
You ever just have that dumb thought where you know it's something that probably no one will ever make but you would want to see if it was a thing for the sheer ridiculousness of the concept? Stranger Things: Super-8 Digest
"Zombie - Dawn of the Dead" no longer is banned in Germany! Just indicated, but now it is legal to sell the movie in Germany to adults! PARTY!
SCART isn't exactly RGB as stated earlier- it CAN carry RGB, but it sometimes doesn't. I assume you're talking about this in a context for retro gaming, so in this case, it's easier to get a SCART to Component converter box than gamble on a cable. Much safer.
@IcePrick Afaik, SCART can carry RGB (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCART), but that doesn't mean that every device with SCART connectors supports those. In other words, SCART supports multiple different types of signals. If a device has a scard output, but only sends the composite video through that, that RGB adaptor cable will not give you any output signal.
Quick question. Do SCART to Component cables (https://tinyurl.com/y3avkzp6) work in any meaningful way? Can they carry an RGB signal?
OK. Thank U. It was important if it's official. So it looks like only Russians have that "special" version
to answer your questions: IVI and Megogo are legal streaming platforms, as Amazon and iTunes; is it possible to find their versions out in the wild, but frankly I dunno where - and, in that case, I'm not allowed to write it here!
