I wouldn't have confidence in Blomkamp either, after District 9 they were all half-disastrous (with Chappie being nail in the coffin). After Chappie he was fired from the Alien series and his involvement with big productions have gone dry, making double the cost of production is just not cutting it from a business point of view. Plus, not counting District 9, they are all dumb (not in a fun way) movies, but here I'm taking personal opinion
Yeah only one, District 9, and it's nowhere near the quality of Paul Verhoeven's Robocop. Anyway he's off his "dream project" which clearly means MGM, the studio famously not known for creative interference, had no confidence in him!
Yes but his reason for leaving is rubbish. He told a producer "I have always wanted to do this, this is my dream project" https://hnentertainment.co/exclusive-ed-...rs-return/ I'll bet he was fired as a writer and it went downhill from there. Blomkamp has only made one good movie, and he already left (or was fied) from "Greenland" earlier this year too.
It seems like they are still going to make that Robocop though, just without Blomkamp.
Neill Blomkamp is off Robocop Returns. Hmm, maybe he shouldn't have been making promises about a movie that didn't even have a completed script?! Just like "Alien 5"... https://twitter.com/NeillBlomkamp/status...8535439360
Depends on your taste/personality. Personally I would say no. You definitely need to see Infinity War to understand Endgame, but that's about it. The other movies are connected and tell what happened before, but that connection is only skin-deep and unless you tend to nerd out about little references here and there, it probably doesn't matter.
Phase 3 : I have only seen 3 films out of 11. Do I need to watch the remaining ones to get Avengers Infinity Endgame?
Definitely agreed. This teaser is so amazingly made that it's still giving me the chills!
Very cool! The good old days when they put a lot of effort into amazing teasers.
@Valeyard A lot of these trailers were either Post produced in the analog realm or a film-out of SD Digital Betacam Tapes
The interesting thing is that a lot of these articles assume that the trailer would have been available in HD now if it wasn't pulled in cinemas. That's not really true, even the Matrix trailer didn't exist in HD until I had it transferred! https://vimeo.com/212361397 and that's the same with many, many iconic trailers.
Scanning isn't illegal, there's nothing they can sue them over, and that facility only does scaning not restoration or distribution...
Yeah, but I would have avoided naming people (even if just forum nicknames) or the forum... and especially not the scanning company.. if sony/columbia tristar is going to sue... they have infos
I don't think the attention hurts, read the youtube comments everyone's very positive about that upload (and almost 600,000 views too!) Plus every other article on it is positive too - and there seems to be lots of them.

And it even got a write-up here: https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/spider-man...win-towers
Is it any different to this version? https://www.amazon.com/Earth-Moon-Four-D...0783114222
Does anybody know if the series 'From the Earth to the Moon' is available in its original 4:3 format?
I've spent the weekend and last few days in hospital as my daughter got herself in some trouble, and it was touch and go for a while. I might be offline for the rest of the week.
Arrow are releasing limited editions of Nightbreed and AAWIL in October. All hail Arrow!

R.I.P. Rutger, you were one of my favourite actor, star of so countless great movies that I can't remember..."Like tears in the rain" will always be one of my most beloved movie scenes ever. RIP Rutger
No... I just have some DVD releases. And IIRC Germany started with the DC on DVD, and the TC was when every country got that 5 version DVD release...
They fixed digitally Ford's chin while he speaks, but this resulted in him being out of sync in all the dubs lol
I never knew! I wonder who forgot to insert dialogues there when they went to dub it. It makes me think that was never on the transcript, it's quite unheard of that they might forget something like that, or it was dubbed but mixed wrongly. Anyone from France or Germany has an early release with the theatrical cut at hand?
As far as I know, the dialog's always been low but audible in the English track. In fact, it was noticeably out of sync, which was why Ford's son was brought in to help fix the lip sync digitally for the FC.
I've just watched Blade Runner on Italian TV, it was the version with off-screen narration by a bored Harrison Ford and had no unicorn dream, so I imagine it's the theatrical cut (or international theatrical cut?). I was watching it with the English audio track on and I noticed an audio difference that I don't remember reading about. Dekkard goes into the pet shop to ask about the snake scale (just before going to Taffey Lewis club), on the English track I could hear all the dialogues when he asks the owner to tell him who bought the snake. I was surprised because I remember that scene having no audible dialogues, since Dekkard enters the shop but the camera stays outside and you're not SUPPOSED to hear him from inside the store. In Italian it was how I remembered it: only sounds from the street and no dialogues from inside the shop, it's clear what's happening anyway, Dekkard is roughening up the owner to obtain information. Are there alternate version of that scene in English where you don't hear the dialogues? Which version does it belong to?
Newegg USA has 10TB HDDs for $160 and 8TB HDDs for $125 for the next few hours. I'm tapped out, but if anyone is looking for storage, those are great prices.
It was not in a sleeve shining in the late afternoon sun. Kind of hard to miss. Had a white label like Image titles did, but not certain. Passed that spot yesterday and it was gone of course.
@SilverWook was it without the packaging? Or how did you tell it apart from a vinyl record? i don't know anything about laserdiscs, just curious. I thought they were roughly the same size as records
There's currently a sale on “Master Restoration Suite” by Wave Arts. Does anybody know if it's any good? https://vstbuzz.com/deals/70-off-master-...wave-arts/
I saw a Laserdisc lying on the side of the road today. Were it not in a bad traffic spot I would have tried to get it.
Just one night... Seems as we drive Friday to the concert... Sleep one night in Warsaw, and drive back to Berlin on Saturday... And on Sunday I'll drive back from Berlin to my personal destonation
Back to the Future was released on this day 34 years ago! Happy Birthday! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saCXL-Xfbwk
Friend in LA got busted trying to record it, but you can see it wasn't faded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_conti...qf4zALS4tM
There was at least one 70mm print of the SE, screened in Norway in '97 at least according to the interwebs: https://www.in70mm.com/library/engagemen.../index.htm
According to people on forums.thestarwarstrilogy.com who attended the screening, the print was from the early '80s, with virtually no fade. There was a tear in the print around when the death star explodes, which happened the first and only other time it had been screened.
According to the official Academy YT channel, even Marcia Lucas will attend as a guest. Wow!
I believe they made some 15/70 prints though, because I remember seeing a featurette about how they remade the intro scene with the Destroyer with impressive explosions in full frame for IMAX.
But no, there were not as far as I know any 70mm prints made, though there were some '70mm cels' that were produced through a different process.
The really big question is were there 70m prints for the SE? Paging Dr. Poita!
Yeah, a friend an I got out tickets in the insane time, when the server were just overheated, but we got lucky. We had seats (was good, my friend had an operation about a week before the concert)
