You say that but every time I see a facebook post from LG for a new TV the comments are full of people complaining about burn in. And this is people saying that they do everything they are told, they have the settings to combat it turned on, they don't leave the TV on pause and it still happened and when it did LG did not want to know - or they offered to fix it and when the TV was returned it was worse than it was before they fixed it. Even if you buy from Richer Sounds or John Lewis with the 6 year guarantee it doesn't cover burn in at all. So if I'm going to drop £3k+ on a new TV I need some kind of cast iron guarantee it will either never happen or it will get replaced if it does. Current TV is edge lit and one of the LEDs went so I had a dark shadow during light scenes, RS replaced it straight away with no quibble, but if it had been an OLED with burn it they wouldn't have done anything. Just can't afford to gamble when spending that much. Even if it's very unlikely, if it did happen after say 6 months, no one will fix it and no one will buy it so I'm completely screwed.

burn in is pretty much a non-issue in modern OLEDs. As long as whatever video player you use has a screensaver I wouldn't worry about it.
I‘m still a fan of the UST projectors (namely Fengmi CinemaPro 2 and Xiaomi Laser Cinema 2 -with Dolby Visio-). Even in daylight circumstances (not direct sunlight on the screen) the picture is bright enough to watch comfortably.
Well if you believe the hype these QD OLEDS are supposed to have the blacks of an OLED with the brightness of LCD, like Hitcher says though I don't expect them to be cheap. From what I understand this is a branch of Samsung that sells to other manufacturers so they won't just turn up in Samsung sets. My biggest issue is burn in though, I know it's better than it was but I've got a wife and a kid who insist on leaving the TV paused all the time! These QD OLEDs are supposed to be a lot better at avoiding burn in but it can still happen.
Indeed. My big problem with oled outside of price is the brightness. I need something bright if I’m watching TV durning the day.
There is so much new OLED tech coming it makes my head swim. I just need it to be cheaper
Video discussing the new OLED tech being put out by Samsung - note that Samsung sponsored the video but the reviewer acknowledges this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Piteu5gyKq0

I'll make it simple. There are no invites for the Spleen. They shut it down years ago and have no plans to start it back up again.

Phenomena is getting a UHD release, seems to be a collaboration between Arrow and Synapse. Will it be blue
Well looks like Lucas can't stop tinkering, look at what he's done with Princess Leia! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GJb-R88wtc
Peter Jackson has turned the Beatles into waxworks! A.I. denoising, reducing the Beatles to amorphous blobs! (Not that bad, but still terrible IMO. ) I am considering if I should try to put it through film emulation once it comes out to maybe make it a bit more watchable?
"The Electrical Life of Louis Wain", a 2021 movie in 1.33:1 aspect ratio? GREAT!!!

Love it! While the "Final Wars" suit was never my favourite it's still lovely to see that Toho have kept hold of it and dusted it off for this special. I'd love to see more of this, even if it's just a series of shorts. I loved "Shin-Godzilla" and thought the digital effects were decent, but there was definitely something lost by not using suits.
Kickass. I wonder if the suitmation style of Kaiju movies will ever make a proper comeback. I liked Shin and Legendary Godzilla, but man do I miss the charming nature those suits brought in the older movies.

I saw it on digital IMAX. Not sure what the OAR is on the regular one but opening scene was filling the screen (which is 1.90:1) but then it looked like it remained at 2:00:1 for the rest of it as there were very small black bars top and bottom

@alleycat I'd be willing to take a look, but I've only seen the film once years ago on VHS so wouldn't be able to give anything more than generic "looks good/bad" opinions.
Any volunteers to test the Extended Version of Johnny Mnemonic I've just finished? Need a second set of eyes to look for color anomalies. Thanks
Any Nyquist programmer here, that can mod an Audacity plugin? If so, drop me a PM. Thanks!
It was definitley the right end to the series. Movie didn´t felt long but i have my trouble with it regarding the script. In my personal view it takes the fourth place out of the 5 movies.
