What are you watching?
That actually does kind of sound like the LD release. It’s not perfect being a late 80’s Paramount disc but the color has always looked the best to me and I had no desire to get the crummy dvd and bd.

Just got back from a 35mm screening of De Palma's Mission: Impossible. Just compared to the Blu-ray: overall, it's quite faithfull. It's in the ballpark. I feel it needs to be warmer on the color temperature and probably a couple points towards the green side on the color spectrum to cut back a little on the red. Now I have to RipBot the new UHD master to see what comes out of it.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Seen yesterday at an almost empty theater, so luckily no chatting or popcorn noises to distract the viewing.

Story: Dante's Peak meets The Lost World: Jurassic Park... so, not the most original one, still interesting, with the open, ready for the next chapter.
Acting is OK, as dialogs; some nice WOW! moments here and there who made laugh the audience.

Colors are natural, CGI pretty perfect; sound punchy.

All in all, another fun chapter in the Jurassic saga; eagerly waiting for the next (final?) one!

Just got back from a 35mm screening of Spielberg's War of the Worlds. Just compared to the Blu-ray: it seems to be very much faithfull colorwise. It could be a bit darker, though. Not everywhere, but some scenes on Blu-ray are a bit too bright: for instance, when they walk towards Boston in the end and walk by the "Boston" street sign covered with those red roots, well, on the 35mm print, you couldn't see that the "Boston" sign is actually green 'cause it was too dark a shot to notice that.

The Big Year (2011) - usually, I do not watch a lot of comedies, but when three big actors like the ones in this movies are there, I am always curious to see their interactions! Well, this was a really good comedy; funny, well acted, makes you think, and let discover the strange world of bird watching - frankly, fan restoration is much more strange hobby, you know! Mission: Impossible - Fallout (DCP) - Pretty good, the usual twists and turns and some good laughs as well. It will be interesting to see what McQuarrie does next as he's keen to go back to indie filmmaking. Considering it's big budget though some of the darker scenes were downright noisy in image quality and there was even some DNR 'mush' in amongst it as well. The set pieces (I'm presuming they opened up to full frame on IMAX screenings) looked good though. I wonder how the few 35mm prints that were struck look.

Nothing so grand. Just a regular digital cinema projector.

Special Features discs for Jeepers Creepers BD Collector's Edition from Shout Factory. I will be moving to the JC 2 Special Features BD on Sunday.

I've seen the 3rd film and enjoyed it but I'm hoping for a Director's or Extended Cut Edition to be released to make it as creepy as it can be.
