Just had a quick look and nothing came up regarding a French 4x3 DVD. Like I posted in the shout box I caught wind of a Fullscreen Alien Legacy DVD (1999 release) in the USA but can't find any evidence apart from that's it's OOP. I do have a UK VHS of this if it needs a quick and dirty capture

If the only difference is a sticker on the front that's gone soon as the shrinkwrap is off, it's going to be hard to find a set without scrutinizing every ebay listing.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-ALIEN-LEGACY...2198085795 It's possible the fullframe set was only carried by certain retail outlets.

You sure there is a full screen version of the Legacy set? I ask because at the time Ridley Scott's team forced Fox into making it anamorphic widescreen. Until that point and a few years late Fox only did 4:3 letterbox. So, it was a big deal. It just seems odd that there would be a push for that and then they would release a 4:3 set also.

Two questions:
1) Is the laserdisc DTS mix different from BD and/or DVD? 2) IIRC the deleted scenes on BD was just the added ones to the theatrical cut, to get the special edition; but, as the special edition is about 7m longer than theatrical cut, and the deleted scenes on BD are about 12m, does it mean that we have 5m of scenes not found on the SE, or just 5m of different takes/angles/whatever? |
