In the 35mm mix on the original lbx LD there is one moment in DH1 where when McClane goes through the stairwell door you hear it clang or open on the left channel opposite from where the door is on screen right IIRC. (or it's the other way round. Essentially the sound comes from the channel opposite where it is on screen) I can't remember the exact time but it's pretty early on. I think it may be after he kills Tony or somewhere around there.
