[SOLVED] From Premiere to uncompressed AVI intermediate
#21
Well, alrighty then... the file was created, next step is to feed it to an authoring program. SpoRv recommended Easy BD lite for a BR with no menues but right now it seems not available? http://www.dvd-logic.com/easybd/easybdlite.zip

tsMuxer can generate a basic blu ray structure. You may want to mux it into an MKV to check you're happy with the encode first.

I'm using tsMuxer to test it. I opted for "blu-ray folder", is that ok?

That's right. That'll give you an m2ts file in the STREAM folder. To create a blu you can either import the folders into software to generate an iso (like imgburn) or create an iso in tsMuxer directly.

I've heard that tsMuxer might produce less compatible BRs, that's why I was hoping for EasyBD Lite. But I'm open to suggestions

tsMuxer (should) give a blu ray compliant disc that will play in standalone players. You are right that it can cause problems for PC playback, as I found out. You may want to release an MKV, that way people can choose to create a blu or not (also the file is smaller).

I just checked the "topical" scenes that have been retouched and I have to say, it's pretty good. Audio tracks are in synch too... all seems fine. Thanks everyone for your help during these difficult encoding times. It's not over yet for me though, I still have to work on the subtitles and I'm probably forgetting many other things. If I can't create any menu then I have to find out a way to make a playlist so that a short clip can play before and after the actual film.

As for the MKV, from the start I never planned a digital release because I'm paranoid that my work would end up on public torrent websites. I prefer the burden of uploading 23GB in parts for forum members, makes me sleep better at night. We will see about a lower resolution MKV for the simpler curiosity of checking the film with my tweaks.

Glad you got it worked out, Evit.

I do the same thing as Zoidberg, release as MKV and then people can convert to BD if they want to. I find it to be the best compromise, unless you want menus.
