I just took the m2ts from one of my discs and in VLC there are no chapters. If I drop the whole BDMV folder it tries to play the files in sequence. Playing the m2ts in MPC-HC shows no chapters, dropping in the BDMV folder, the chapters are there but the menu is skipped. If I open the m2ts in powerDVD there are no chapters, if I drop in the BDMV folder, the chapters are there and the menu shows up and functions correctly.

I'm pretty certain m2ts streams have no chapter info as it is stored elsewhere on the disc. You will find chapters by opening the blu folder in your media player, or by muxing to MKV and playing that. Or if you're feeling brave by burning a disc. You got any bd-re's for testing?

You're right, the chapters are in the mpls (playlist) file I think. I have burned my Superman 4 disc previously and it plays fine in my PC and PS3.

Confirmed... file "alone" doesn't have chapters, but played in folder, it has... using MPC-HC (and BE)

Booshman, you're losing me here, does the PS3 see the chapters made with the method of substituting the video stream in a BR folder that Encore produced? Can you skip from one chapter to the next on the PS3?

I did not, I play my Blu-Rays with Leawo Blu-Ray player and since this can read chapters on legitimate BRs I expect it to be able read chapters also on my home-made BR, if the method is valid.
I'm setting proper chapters to export with Encore to test it on a disc that I will then try on my neighbour's PS3 but there is this step that I don't think makes much sense from the guide

Quote:9. Open your "Original" folder in BDEdit. Go to PLAYLIST Tab and find the main movie mpls. After you find it, do the following:

.
What's that supposed to do?
